Some pieces were never meant to sit quietly and look pretty.

This old cupboard has probably held everything from Sunday dishes to flour sacks, linens and whatever needed tucking away before company came through the door.

That’s what I love about old furniture—the wear isn’t damage. It’s evidence that somebody needed it, used it and kept it.

Would you leave an old cupboard like this exactly as it is, or refinish it?
