Call for Artists! Entries are open for First Street Gallery's "SELECTS 2027" exhibition!

This is an opportunity for artists to exhibit a small body of work that explores a current or longstanding artistic interest. The show opens on January 7, 2027 and runs through January 30, in our Chelsea Gallery located at 547 West 27th Street, Suite 514 in New York City.

Open to U.S. resident artists, 18 years and older with the exception of artists currently represented by First Street Gallery and exhibitors in the Gallery’s “SELECTS 2025” or “SELECTS 2026” exhibitions.

Entries must be submitted through the online Entry Form, linked at the bottom of the Prospectus.

FIRST STREET GALLERY is pleased to announce Part II of MUSINGS | What is Seen and What is Not, on view October 7–24, 2026! 🧡

Join us for the Opening Reception on Thursday, October 8th from 6-8 pm!

The eight Gallery Artists featured in the exhibition are Suzi Evalenko, Diane Fitch, John Lee, Rallou Malliarakis, Eve Mansdorf, Abbigayle Poirier, Nicole Santiago, and Dana Saulnier.

The gallery will be closed September 30 – October 3, 2026 for installation.

First Street Gallery is pleased to open the new season with MUSINGS – What is Seen and What is Not, the first part of a two-part exhibition of works by Gallery Artists. Part I opens September 9 and runs to September 26, 2026. The opening reception will be held on Thursday, September 10th, 6-8 PM.

The eight artists featured in the exhibition are Jessica McGarry Bartlet, Carrie B. Belk, Hank Feeley, Tim Kennedy, Michele Liebler, Lisa Noble, Marie Riccio, and Jill Sarver Rossi.

FIRST STREET GALLERY is pleased to present Close to Home, a summer Invitational. An exhibition of works by seven artists invited by individual Gallery members, the show will run from July 29 to August 15, 2026. A reception will be held on Thursday, July 30th, from 6 to 8 pm. Exhibiting artists include Leslie Adler, Marianne Barcellona, Ken Carbone, John Harms, Marion Held, Susan MacMurdy, and Gillian Wainwright.

“Close to Home”, open to literal and metaphorical interpretations, can certainly be a ‘place’ near to ‘home’. But those two words, themselves, embrace not only a location, but the realm of the imagined, the deeply felt, the present, the past, or future, a foundation or a search, a source of inspiration or inquiry, or several at once.

FIRST STREET GALLERY is pleased to present its 2026 National Juried Exhibition. Located in the Chelsea Art District in NYC, the exhibition will run from June 25 to July 18, 2026. A reception will be held on Thursday, June 25th, from 6 to 8 pm.

Curated by Scott Noel, celebrated Philadelphia-based painter, curator, and long-time professor of painting and drawing at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, the exhibition presents works by thirty-seven contemporary artists from all regions of the country.

FIRST STREET GALLERY is pleased to present, "A Clock Without Hands," by Tim Kennedy. The exhibition will be on view May 27 – June 20, 2026.

Join us, Thursday, May 28, 2026 from 6 to 8pm to celebrate the opening of "A Clock Without Hands," Tim Kennedy's 10th solo exhibition with First Street Gallery. Featured in the exhibition are intimately scaled still life paintings in oil and opaque watercolor painted directly from life.

Mr. Kennedy will give a talk in the gallery about the work at 5pm on Saturday, June 20, the final day of the exhibition.

FIRST STREET GALLERY is pleased to present American Archive 2026, a multidisciplinary exhibition of Jessica McGarry Bartlet’s paintings and drawings, documenting the artist’s lived experience in a time of profound social tension.

McGarry Bartlet constructs a visual record of observation shaped by the question of how individuals persevere within conditions they did not author and over which they have little control.

The exhibition is on view April 1-25, 2026. Join us on Thursday, April 23, from 6-8PM for the closing reception, and meet the artist. ✨
