Before there was a conversation about women in football, there was Pat Palinkas.

On Monday, 11/9, The Paley Museum presents Panther Pat, the award-winning short documentary about the schoolteacher who became the first woman to play professional football with the Orlando Panthers in 1970. Afterward, two-time Super Bowl champion Eli Manning moderates a conversation about Pat’s story, the making of the film, and why stories like hers deserve a second look.

Last night at the Paley Museum, The Gilded Age on HBO took the stage.

Carrie C**n (Bertha Russell), Cynthia Nixon (Ada Forte), and writer and executive producer Sonja Warfield joined entertainment journalist Jessica Shaw for a conversation about the HBO series, behind-the-scenes stories, and what’s ahead in the upcoming fourth season.

For a museum devoted to the history of media, it was a rare treat: a period drama’s makers discussing how you build a world of old money, new money, and impeccable posture.

Last night at the Paley Museum, PaleyFest welcomed Billy Crystal for An Evening with Billy Crystal, a conversation with Whoopi Goldberg celebrating his new Broadway show, 860, and a career that has taught generations how to laugh.

Two Tony- and Emmy-winning storytellers, one stage, and a master class in timing, no notes required. For a museum devoted to preserving the history of media, it was a living archive of what comedy looks like when it’s done at the highest level.
