Leila Heller Gallery (formerly LTMH Gallery) located in the heart of Chelsea’s gallery district promotes a cutting edge program of international contemporary emerging and mid-career artists. The gallery has gained recognition for fostering the careers of artists working across a multitude of disciplines and mediums, helping to establish them among the leading contemporary artists internationally. The gallery presents a dynamic exhibition schedule, actively engaging world renowned curators, hosting educational panels and producing catalogues with scholarly essays. The Gallery also participates in major international art fairs each year and stages offsite projects as a continuation of the program. Gallery artists have consistently participated in major international exhibitions and biennials, and are included in important institutional collections worldwide. Manish Nai | In Search of Material Within Material

Currently on view at Leila Heller Gallery, Dubai.

In these works, Manish Nai (Manish Nai) explores the relationship between color, material, and surface through painted corrugated aluminium sheets.

Aluminium has a particular metallic character and a soft, reflective quality, different from the shine of steel or silver. Rather than covering this quality completely, the artist experiments with subtle metallic colors, imagining how aluminium might appear if colour were part of its natural surface.

The muted shades retain a sense of the material’s original character, while the overlapping horizontal and vertical sheets create depth, rhythm, and changing relationships with light.

Today is the last day of (The Armory Show)! Join us at Booth 238 for Darvish Fakhr: State of Suspension.

Across more than 30 new paintings and an ongoing performance, Fakhr (darvish) explores a state of suspension inspired by the hypnagogic state: that liminal threshold between wakefulness and sleep, when consciousness begins to loosen and images, memories, and sensations drift freely between the real and imagined.

Fakhr likens this fleeting state to the moment at the apex of a jump: the body is briefly weightless, neither rising nor falling, caught in a pause before gravity takes hold again. Throughout the paintings, figures and objects float, hover, and drift through dreamlike spaces, extending this sensation of being momentarily untethered from the physical world.
