Saul Steinberg began making paper bag masks in 1959. In our recent e-catalogue for "Eyes Wide Open: Saul Steinberg and Philip Guston," art historian Antonia Pocock described the masks as “emblems of the artifice of identity.”

Senior & Shopmaker Gallery is pleased to announce an exhibition of editions and unique works by American Geometric Abstract painter Leon Polk Smith (1906-1996). "Leon Polk Smith: Prints and Related Works" opens to the public today, and will be on view through January 14, 2018.

Our new exhibition "Bruce Conner: DENNIS HOPPER ONE MAN SHOW" is now on view. The show is comprised of photo etchings from Conner's important body of work of the same name, which were made between 1971-73. “Bruce Conner: It’s All True,” at MoMA, is the first New York retrospective of this polymathic artist. It features some 250 works in nearly 10 media.
