Please join us Friday September 4th from 5:30-8pm for the opening reception of ๐˜—๐˜ณ๐˜ช๐˜ฎ๐˜ข๐˜ณ๐˜บ ๐˜š๐˜ฐ๐˜ถ๐˜ณ๐˜ค๐˜ฆ๐˜ด: ๐˜ˆ๐˜ฏ ๐˜๐˜ฎ๐˜ฑ๐˜ญ๐˜ช๐˜ค๐˜ข๐˜ต๐˜ฆ๐˜ฅ ๐˜›๐˜ฉ๐˜ณ๐˜ฆ๐˜ด๐˜ฉ๐˜ฐ๐˜ญ๐˜ฅ, a three-person exhibition by Nate Jackson, Camille Seaberry, and Charlotte Palermo

This exhibition is presented concurrently with ๐˜—๐˜ณ๐˜ช๐˜ฎ๐˜ข๐˜ณ๐˜บ ๐˜š๐˜ฐ๐˜ถ๐˜ณ๐˜ค๐˜ฆ๐˜ด at Steven Zevitas Gallery. Across both exhibitions, these artists come together through familial kinship. While Primary Sources develops an architecture of relationship, ๐˜—๐˜ณ๐˜ช๐˜ฎ๐˜ข๐˜ณ๐˜บ ๐˜š๐˜ฐ๐˜ถ๐˜ณ๐˜ค๐˜ฆ๐˜ด: ๐˜ˆ๐˜ฏ ๐˜๐˜ฎ๐˜ฑ๐˜ญ๐˜ช๐˜ค๐˜ข๐˜ต๐˜ฆ๐˜ฅ ๐˜›๐˜ฉ๐˜ณ๐˜ฆ๐˜ด๐˜ฉ๐˜ฐ๐˜ญ๐˜ฅ, questions the limiting construction of established structures. While these frameworks promote legibility and organization, they can also constrain the possibility of imagining new forms, relationships, and understanding. Bringing together found materials, reworked diagrams, and forms drawn from domestic, scientific, and institutional histories, the exhibition pushes against the threshold between what is recognized and what remains outside of fixed systems of perception.

The myth of the artist working alone in the studio is a subtle but persistent fallacy. Although painters may apply pigment to canvas in isolation, the foundations of their images, and the conceptual frameworks that support them, are often built through connection and exchange. For more than a decade, artists Alex Jackson and Jordan Seaberry have shared countless hours of conversation, moving between literature and media and lifeโ€™s joys and sorrows, always sprinkled with the mundane humor of everyday existence. ๐˜—๐˜ณ๐˜ช๐˜ฎ๐˜ข๐˜ณ๐˜บ ๐˜š๐˜ฐ๐˜ถ๐˜ณ๐˜ค๐˜ฆ๐˜ด serves as a bibliography of their friendship, with each artist paying homage to the moments, ideas, and objects that have shaped their development together as artists and as people.

While Seaberryโ€™s practice is typically grounded in the past, Jacksonโ€™s often contemplates possible futures. This exhibition honors both the intimate histories upon which their friendship has been built and the architecture of language that will sustain it in the years ahead. Through this shared catalogue, their work and their minds meet, at last, in the present.

We are thrilled to announce an upcoming exhibition with Alex Jackson and Jordan Seaberry titled ๐˜—๐˜ณ๐˜ช๐˜ฎ๐˜ข๐˜ณ๐˜บ ๐˜š๐˜ฐ๐˜ถ๐˜ณ๐˜ค๐˜ฆ๐˜ด. The exh...

Please join us TONIGHT from 5:30-8 pm for the opening reception of Karla Monterroza-Watkins: scenes from the noise

In โ€œscenes from the noiseโ€, Monterroza-Watkins presents a body of paintings that examine the emotional terrain of contemporary life. Through ambiguous figures, charged atmospheres, and psychologically resonant spaces, the artist explores themes of grief, alienation, belonging, and the persistent search for connection in an increasingly fractured world.

The figures that populate these paintings are neither portraits nor narrative protagonists. Instead, they function as vessels for states of longing, vulnerability, fatigue, and reflection. Positioned within sparse interiors and enigmatic landscapes, they occupy spaces that feel at once familiar and estranged. These paintings reflect a position of irresolution wherein social pillars have collapsed and ideological narratives no longer provide sufficient comfort. What remains is silence, uncertainty, and the lingering fog of unspoken feelings.

Rather than assigning a moral doctrine, Monterroza-Watkins acts as witness to the soft core of a shared, human disquiet. She does not offer an antidote, but a companion silence in which an unspoken truth might finally resonate.

Please join us TONIGHT from 5:30-8pm for the opening reception of Mason Owens: waiting for a warm day

Working in egg tempera, Owens builds each surface through delicate, deliberate layers of paint, allowing subtle gaps to remain open as spaces of pause and possibility. This material process mirrors the space and tension between two environments: a calling to interior spaces as sites of solace and reflection, and the pull toward landscape and the external escape of adventure. Never completely detached, remnants of longing for stability or escape can be found in their counterparts. In a cozy interior, a subtle breeze flows through an open window with a whisper of freedom. In an expansive riverscape, an old wooden chair sits planted into the bank, grounding and comforting as someone sips their tea. The paintings settle into a careful balance between restlessness and grounding, inviting an awareness of immediate experience and attentive presence.

Hovering between recollection and invention, stillness and movement, Owensโ€™ paintings offer a poetic meditation on longing and the fleeting comforts attached to both past and possibility. Remembrance is never treated as fixed or complete, but instead as an evolving space where reflection and anticipation continuously converge.
