My latest painting, a Hellebore in watercolour. Painted as part of David Reynolds online class at Follow or join to support the Royal Botanic Gardens in Melbourne 🤩

Hellebores, also known as the Christmas rose, bloom in winter and early spring.

A fun fact for you👀 They have also been called oracle roses, as in the past they were believed to offer clues about the year ahead. A historical tradition involved placing twelve hellebore flower buds in a glass of water before Christmas, with each bud symbolising a month of the coming year. By Christmas Eve, any buds that had blossomed were thought to predict good weather for their corresponding month, while those that remained closed were believed to foretell poor conditions. 🔮

Taylor & Cole 2026 💐

It’s been such an honour to draw this beautiful bridal bouquet! I hope having it up on your wall is a lovely reminder of your wedding for many years to come.

It’s been dreamy using all my pastel coloured pencils to bring these flowers to life.

Onto its forever home! ✉️

Thank you Taylor for trusting me with your bouquet preservation! 🤍

Final weekend to view! 🌺

“Australia’s premier botanical art exhibition, The Art of Botanical Illustration (TABI), returns to Melbourne, showcasing over 100 extraordinary artworks that unite artistic excellence with scientific precision.”

My piece Gladiolus x hortulanus is available to view through to the end of this weekend in Melbourne or on the online exhibition here:

https://tabi.rbgfriendsmelbourne.org/beth-thomas

“Presented by The Friends of the Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne, and now in its 18th edition, TABI brings together leading Australian and international botanical artists to celebrate the beauty, diversity and importance of the plant world.

Held at Domain House, adjacent to the Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne, and online as a virtual exhibition, over 100 original artworks will capture the beauty of nature in exquisite detail. Subjects range from native Australian flora and cultivated garden plants to humble vegetables, revealing the extraordinary beauty that can be found in even the most familiar plants.”

And that’s a wrap! An amazing 5 days in the marquee selling my botanical art in all sorts of forms!
I met so many fabulous people over the 5 days, thank you to everyone who stopped by to support!

Over 200 of you bought something at the stall over the week! I sold over 300 cards and over 200 coasters, as well as tote bags, prints and framed pieces that now have new homes. More stats to follow once I’ve recovered enough sleep to do a count up..!

Thank you Wi******er Cathedral for a fantastic opportunity! 🌸🌺💐🌻🌼

Over the next couple of days you can find me at the Wi******er Cathedral WILD! Flower festival! 🌸 We’ve had 3 days so far and it’s been great fun!

Over these 5 days Wi******er Cathedral has been transformed with beautiful flower installations and arrangements. Out in the Cathedral Close I’m selling my botanical artwork in the form of prints, originals, cards, coasters and tote bags!

I’ve met some amazing fellow market stall holders, and the best thing is we can get flower crowns made for us every day! 👑💐

A HUGE thank you to my amazing mum who has been helping me run the stall and to my amazing dad who has been helping drive stock and set up back and forth! (And to both of them who helped me plan this event and have put up with my many parcels and boxes in the living room the past couple of months!) ❤️

Here’s to another fabulous couple of days coming up at the cathedral! 🌸🌺💐🌷🌺🌻🌼
