Bihl Haus Arts Creating Community Through Arts! In support of it mission, Bihl Haus developed the GO!

Bihl Haus Arts, founded in 2005, presents innovative, interdisciplinary programming featuring the work of contemporary visual, literary, and performing artists in the intimate setting of the historic George Bihl house. Located on the grounds of Primrose at Monticello Park Senior Apartments, Bihl Haus Arts is the only professional contemporary art gallery on the premises of 100% affordable senior housing in the U.S. Our mission—Creating Community through the Arts—is founded on the belief that each person, when given a chance, will achieve significant personal, social and cultural growth through the arts. Arts Program in 2007, which provides art and creative writing classed taught by professional artists-teachers to seniors—the “Goldens”—who either reside at Primrose or participate in the program at City-operated senior community centers across San Antonio, at all three WellMed senior centers and at Merced Housing Texas senior residential properties. Bihl Haus Arts also organizes the On and Off Fredericksburg Road Studio Tour, a two-day self-guided art studios tour held annually on the third weekend of February.

Bihl Haus Arts is an independent, community-driven space right here on Fredericksburg Road, but our impact stretches far beyond our gallery walls. We proudly serve the entire city of San Antonio—not only hosting vibrant exhibitions and workshops right here at home, but bringing our free art programs directly to senior centers across the city.

We aren't launching a complicated gala or corporate fundraiser. We just need to raise $2,500 before the holidays to keep these free community art programs running strong and fully supported across San Antonio through the end of the year.

Every single dollar stays right here in our community, keeping our doors open and our outreach thriving.

Introducing: Bihl Haus Small Batch Studio Sessions

Following a fantastic summer with Camp Bihl Haus, we are opening the studio doors for our cooler-weather lineup: Bihl Haus Small Batch Studio Sessions.
These intimate, small-capacity gatherings are designed for focused learning, personal creative expression, and community connection. Learn distinctive, hands-on techniques directly from master artists in our historic gallery setting.
Art That Sustains Community:
Every workshop fee functions as a tax-deductible donation to Bihl Haus Arts Inc. Your registration directly funds our year-round free gallery exhibitions and community wellness arts programs for seniors, veterans, and local creatives.
