Yayoi Kusama (1929–2026)

Woodward Gallery has had the privilege of handling works by Kusama over the years and has long admired how she remained true to her vision by transforming her private world of dots into an infinite universe. Kusama invited us all to step inside.

From her early years in New York’s avant-garde to her iconic Infinity Nets, polka dots, pumpkins, and immersive environments, Kusama continually pushed the boundaries of contemporary art and experience. Through obsessive repetition, she transformed dots, nets, and mirrored reflections into extraordinary meditations on perception, self, and infinity.

She was a remarkable artist. She leaves an unmistakable vision and an infinite legacy.
