Saritha Komatireddy for New York Attorney General
New Yorkers should take a serious look at Saritha Komatireddy.

Her resume is extraordinary.

A graduate of Harvard College and Harvard Law School, Saritha spent more than a decade as a federal prosecutor in Brooklyn’s Eastern District, taking on some of the world’s most dangerous criminals, including leaders of Al Qaeda, ISIS, and the Mexican drug cartels. She also handled cases involving financial fraud, money laundering, cybercrime, and foreign corruption. She later served as Chief of Staff of the Drug Enforcement Administration, a 10,000-person global agency.

She’s also a mother of four who understands what safe communities mean to New York families.

I’ve always believed the Attorney General’s office should focus on enforcing the law fairly, protecting New Yorkers, and pursuing justice without political favoritism. Saritha is running as a Republican, but her credentials and real prosecutorial experience should matter to every voter, whatever their party.

She’s a breath of fresh air, and a candidate every New Yorker should get to know before November 3.

Most people don't realize apartment building loans come due every 5-7 years, not 30. A lot of them are coming due now at double the rate, and New York rents are frozen. Quick read:

The future of the Lower East Side depends not only on its artists, galleries and independent businesses, but also on whether New York’s housing policies allow its aging buildings and neighborhoods to remain viable.

In my attached essay, I propose a practical way to return thousands of vacant rent-stabilized apartments to the housing market—while protecting existing tenants, encouraging responsible investment and creating jobs.

We should never forget the sacrifices of those who came before us so their children and grandchildren could have a better life.

Beauty with a Price

Canadian wildfires are giving us some of the most spectacular sunsets New York has ever seen. The smoke scatters the sunlight into brilliant reds, oranges, and pinks.

Beautiful? Absolutely.

But every breathtaking sunset is also a reminder that the same smoke is carrying pollutants into the air we breathe.

It rains diamonds on Jupiter—but wood exists only here. Diamonds are just physics; trees are what life had to build. Maybe we’ve been calling the wrong things precious. 🌲
