Contemporanea Progetti si unisce al ricordo del professor Antonio Paolucci, figura eminente nel mondo dell’arte e punto di riferimento per la nostra città, in qualità di Direttore dell’Opificio delle Pietre Dure di Firenze, poi Soprintendente del Polo Museale Fiorentino e infine Direttore Generale dei Beni Culturali per la Toscana.
Negli anni abbiamo avuto l’onore di conoscere e collaborare con Antonio Paolucci, uomo di forti intuizioni e di incredibile grandezza d’animo, che ha rivoluzionato il mondo museale e tra i primi a portare respiro internazionale al mondo dei musei italiani, lanciando l'ardua missione di valorizzazione e promozione dello straordinario patrimonio culturale italiano in tutto il mondo. Grazie Professore.

Contemporanea Progetti participates in the grief for the loss of Professor Antonio Paolucci, an eminent figure in the world of art and a point of reference for our city, as Director of the Opificio delle Pietre Dure in Florence, then Superintendent of the Florentine Museums and finally General Director of Cultural Heritage for Tuscany.
Throughout the years we had the honor of meeting and collaborating with Antonio Paolucci, a man of deep intuitions and incredible greatness of soul, who revolutionized the museum world and was among the first to bring an international breath to the world of Italian museums, launching the arduous mission of enhancing and promoting the extraordinary Italian cultural heritage internationally. Julius Caesar is in Amsterdam as never before!
"Julius Caesar. I came, I saw, I met my doom" is our new grand exhibition currently at the H'ART Museum in Amsterdam (previously known as Hermitage Museum) about one of the most influential and significant characters in the history of Rome: Julias Caesar, a cunning politician, a skilled orator, a ruthless leader. Under his leadership, the process of transforming Rome from a Republic into the greatest Empire of the ancient Western world began.

On show 150 original archaeological objects from top Italian museums, such as the Museo Nazionale Romano and the Museo Archeologico Nazionale di Firenze, together with international museums like the Rijksmuseum van Oudheden in Leiden and museums in the Netherlands and Germany.
In collaboration with Expona.

"ANCIENT EGYPT - OBSESSED WITH LIFE" in Denmark 🇩🇰

An extraordinary exhibition presenting for the first time +200 archaeological artifacts from the prestigious collections of the Museo Archeologico Nazionale di Firenze, the Leiden Rijksmuseum Van Oudheden, the National Museum of Denmark and the Papyrus Carlsberg Collection.

Dealing with life in the afterlife and the interaction between the living and the living dead interred in the rock-cut graves along the Nile, the exhibitions focus especially on the pharaonic period, the Bronze Age and Iron Age (c. 2600-700 BC), unveiling also the latest research on the process of embalmment and mummification.

“Catastrophes have caused people pain and sorrow throughout the ages, but catastrophes have also united people, as in Pompeii” with these beautiful message the Director of the National Maritime Museum of Finland opened our exhibition “Escape from Pompeii” at the National Maritime Museum of Finland. An enthralling journey into the infamous event occurred in 79 CE that still keeps having enormous relevance today.

In collaboration the National Museum of Finland, the Maritime Museum of Finland amd Expona, the exhibition brings to light for the first time in Finland +150 original objects directly coming from the most recent excavations of Pompeii and prestigious institutions including the Museo Archeologico di Napoli, the Parco Archeologico Campi Flegrei, the Soprintendenza Belle Arti e Paesaggio of Naples and the University Naples II.

“Venice, Queen of the Sea” keeps on travelling: after its debut in Helsingor, Denmark, the exhibition is now open in Tallinn, Estonia!

On show ca. 100 marvellous original artworks, evocative set design and immersive, multimedia content recounting the scintillating story of Venice as a super power through the lens of its rapport with the sea: a complex, determinant and pervasive relationship. It is both a maritime story and a legendary story, comprised of many legends – legends written on paper, on canvas, in wood and stone, but above all, on water – on the currents of the lagoon and the waves of the Mediterranean sea.

"Ulisse e gli altri" è la prima di tappa di un importante progetto di valorizzazione di opere finora nascoste nei depositi del Museo Nazionale Romano.
Noi, a CP, abbiamo curato l'allestimento ad alto contenuto emotivo nei bellissimi spazi delle Terme di Diocleziano e insieme al Museo abbiamo seguito l'organizzazione generale della mostra.

"Il Museo Nazionale Romano apre le porte dei propri depositi e svela alcuni straordinari reperti, rendendo accessibile un patrimonio culturale inaspettato. Attraverso Depositi (ri)scoperti si avvia infatti il progetto di valorizzazione, costituito da un ciclo di brevi esposizioni, che permetterà di far conoscere al pubblico una grandissima quantità di opere solitamente custodite all’interno dei depositi: migliaia sono i reperti conservati in questo “museo nel museo”, quali sculture, mosaici, affreschi, oggetti in terracotta, in vetro e in bronzo. Reperti rinvenuti nel corso di più di un secolo di vita del Museo Nazionale Romano che raccontano non solo l’antichità di Roma, ma anche la storia della sua trasformazione e dei suoi scavi, dall’istituzione di Roma Capitale ad oggi.

La prima tappa del viaggio tra i depositi del Museo Nazionale Romano è dedicata a “Ulisse” (8 dicembre 2022 – 8 gennaio 2023) che, con la sua inappagabile sete di conoscenza, incarna l’incapacità di arrendersi di fronte a un mondo inaccessibile. Viaggiatore per eccellenza, Ulisse è guida ideale per iniziare questo percorso alla scoperta di opere sconosciute, (ri)scoperte ed esposte nelle maestose Aule delle Terme di Diocleziano. Il viaggio di Ulisse continuerà idealmente nel secondo momento espositivo dedicato a “gli altri” (14 gennaio – 19 febbraio 2023), approfondendo il rapporto tra gli antichi Romani e le altre culture. Una riflessione sul modo in cui gli antichi percepivano e rappresentavano popolazioni diverse tra stereotipi, diffidenza e curiosità"

💥OPENING! The exhibition “India, Reflections of Sacred Worlds” can now be experienced at the Château des ducs de Bretagne (officiel) in France until April. On show a selection of ca. 200 original objects retracing 1300 years of Indian art, drawing from the prestigious collection of the Museo delle Civiltà of Rome and from other important Italian collections. An incredible journey into the fascinating Indian culture and its 3 religions: Hinduism, Jainism and Buddhism.
A big thanks to all the partners involved and in particular to the staff of the Château des Ducs de Bretagne and of the Museo delle Civiltà of Rome.

Our brand new exhibition "Julius Caesar, Triumph and Death of a Roman Conqueror" is now open at the Kuopion Museum in Finland.
A selection of ca. 70 original artifacts drawn from the Museo Archeologico Nazionale di Firenze, the Römisch-Germanisches Zentralmuseum and the Kansallismuseo - The National Museum of Finland illustrates one of the most legendary figures in human history, his life and his mysterious assassination. Who killed Julius Caesar and why? This is the point of departure for this suggestive exhibition, perhaps a cautionary tale, that juxtaposes ancient artifacts and artworks with modern interactive, immersive elements and spectacular set design.
Open until March 26!

The exhibition “Swiss Expressionism. Languages of Artists Beyond the Alps” is now open at the MAR - Museo Archeologico Regionale of Aosta, Italy! On show an exceptional selection of ca. 70 wonderful paintings drawing from the extensive collection of the Kunst Museum Winterthur and numerous private collections.

A grand exhibition bringing together for the first time the Expressionist masterpieces of the Helvetic area illustrating how the renowned art movement coming from Germany was interpreted in the raw emotionalism and stark aesthetics of Swiss artists like Cuno Amiet, Giovanni Giacometti, Alice Bailly, Albert Muller – just to mention a few - including also special artworks by Ernst Ludwig Kirchner.

The exhibition is curated by David Schmiddhauser and Daria Jorioz and is the result of the collaboration between Contemporanea Progetti, Expona, the MAR and the Kunst Museum of Winterthur.
