Step inside our historic house after dark and uncover the chilling tales of ghosts and specters who have made their presence known to visitors throughout the ages.

Haunted History Ghost Tour is a one hour tour that grants access to the haunted halls within, including the eerie basement. Equal parts spine-tingling and captivating, these haunted histories are sure to thrill and unsettle in equal measure.

Your guides for the evening are the Dalnavert Museum team together with Matthew Komus, author of Haunted Winnipeg and creator of the Winnipeg Ghost Walk tours. With his deep knowledge of the city’s supernatural past, Matthew joins us to bring these haunted histories to life in a night of chilling storytelling you won’t soon forget.

Join us on Thursday, July 9th and Saturday, July 11th for a tour sure to send shivers down your spine. Book your tickets now by going to the event page or calendar on our website.

Dalnavert Museum wishes everyone a mindful and intentional celebration of the 30th anniversary of National Indigenous Peoples Day.

Dalnavert was built in 1895 on Treaty One Territory. The history of this house is directly tied to colonial structures and systems that have oppressed, marginalized, and harmed Indigenous communities and individuals living on the land we now know as Canada.

As a colonial institution, we recognize the importance of uplifting voices that have been and continue to be marginalized and silenced. We acknowledge that reconciliation is a process of continual learning and listening that requires active engagement and commitment. Today and every day, we interrogate the colonial stories that have permeated our history, and we hold ourselves responsible for sharing the parts of these stories that have been deliberately minimized in order to present a flattering portrait of this city’s and country’s history.

We hope you will join us and countless people across the country in making time today to learn about and celebrate the rich contributions, resilience, and history of First Nations, Inuit and Métis people.

Happy Father's Day! To mark the occasion, Dalnavert Museum wanted to share the unique tie pins in our collection!

Tie pins (also known as stickpins) were originally designed to keep cravats in place, and soon evolved to work for ties and scarves as well. While not only worn by men, tie pins became a staple in the wardrobe of upper class men. This practical piece not only elevated a look, but also allowed the opportunity for creative expression in the otherwise dark colours of Victorian menswear.
