Dalnavert Museum and Visitors' Centre is excited to announce that we are partcipating in again this year! We're hosting an unstructured morning of drawing in our historic house and gardens on September 19th. Make sure to pre-register on our website as space is limited!

We are also participating in Nuit Blanche once again, so join us on September 26th for an immersive museum experience.

UPDATE: With the seasons changing, our Poverty and Prosperity walking tour will now only be offering Saturdays at 2:00 PM!

This 60-minute walking tour of downtown explores Winnipeg's roots and foundations, from periods of major growth to the present day. Join us on Poverty and Prosperity to hear stories of the city and learn how Winnipeg became the city it is today.

IMPORTANT: Dalnavert Museum and Visitors' Centre is switching back to our regular hours of Wednesday - Sunday, 12:00 - 4:00 PM tomorrow for Fall and Winter.

If you'd like to visit the museum and are unsure if we are open, please give us a call or email us at [email protected].

We offer tours during our open hours! To ensure you get a guided tour, we recommend you book your experience in advance to ensure we have a tour guide available.

Stop by for Second Saturday on September 12, a free program inviting families to explore the past! On the second Saturday of every month, learn to play a Victorian-era game, explore the historic house at your own pace with a self-guided tour, and finish the afternoon with some crafts!

We are excited to say that our friends at ToyBox Manitoba will be joining us for the day in our Visitors' Centre! Toybox is an organization that provides caregivers and educators with free, playful, evidence-based letters, numbers and wellness activities for children between the ages of 2-8.

Join us for our last Paint 'n' sip Morning for the 2026 year!

Painting en plein air is the practice of painting outdoors with your subject right in front of you. Join us for a beginner-friendly watercolour tutorial, then relax in Dalnavert's beautiful garden with a mimosa while you create your plein-air masterpiece! The historic house will also be open to explore all morning; participants are invited to take inspiration from our collection.

Join us for The Language of Dalnavert: An Insider’s Perspective of the House and the Victorians, a monthly lecture series with our Collections Registrar, Inés Bonacossa. Each month, Inés will share her insight into different aspects of Dalnavert’s collection and Victorian culture. This fall, Inés will be covering fascinating topics such as: Victorian art, supernatural encounters, and the class dynamics of lace! Here are the dates for Fall 2026:

September 20: Victorian Art Imitates Life
October 18: Experiences with the Other Side
November 19: Whispers in Thread: The Story of Lace

Tickets are $10 per person per lecture and $5 for Dalnavert Museum members. Details and tickets for the lectures can be found on our website under the Language of Dalnavert page.

Join us on Saturday, August 29th and race against the clock in this Alice in Wonderland inspired escape-room-style experience at Dalnavert Museum!

The white rabbit has stopped time at Dalnavert! It’s your job to follow his trail through the house and set things right. Solve the riddles left by the inhabitants of Wonderland to unlock the secret that will set the clocks ticking once more.

While your team tries to conquer time, why not enjoy a refreshing beverage from our Bar, or try a signature Wonderland cocktail (beverage tickets must be purchased separately and are not included in the ticket price).

Doors open at 6:30, the competition will start at 7pm.

Tickets can be booked now on our website! Please note that this experience must be booked as a group (minimum of 4 people) and that at least one member of your team must be able to go up and down stairs.

Join us down the rabbit-hole on August 29th for a family-friendly Alice in Wonderland inspired Tea Party!

Step into the whimsical world of Lewis Caroll and enjoy an afternoon of Wonderland-themed fun. Play a game of croquet in the garden, explore the house with a character scavenger hunt and create-your-own Mad-Hatter hat to wear during the festivities. Finally, we will enjoy our very own Mad Tea Party with tea and light refreshments in the Visitors' Centre.

Tickets can be booked by going to the event's page on our website. Recommended for ages 6-12. No children without adults; no adults without children.
