Robert LaDuke reimagines the Santa Fe depot with a locomotive and it’s becoming a popular painting rapidly!
Drawn from vintage trains, antique toys, and the illustrated advertisements of his childhood, the painting brings Santa Fe into LaDuke’s ongoing story of American travel. History and memory meet at the depot, reshaped through the particular scale and color of LaDuke’s imagination.

Robert Laduke “The Open Road”
September 25 - October 8
Artist Reception: Friday, September 25 from 4pm - 6pm

Robert LaDuke paints the road as he remembers it: a Cadillac pulling an Airstream across the country, antique steel toys handed down through his family, the bright, confident colors of old Life magazine car advertisements. These are the materials of his memory, and for three decades he has turned them into paint. The Open Road is the newest chapter of that project, a body of work built entirely around American travel and the places it passes through.

Francis Livingston has been painting the western landscape for more than four decades. Into the Quiet, a new exhibition of oil paintings at Meyer Gallery in Santa Fe, brings together recent work rooted in the Southwest: open ground, cottonwood groves, Pueblo forms, and the weather that moves through all of it.
