We are excited to introduce our amazing artists to this important group and to hear all about the exciting projects that they’re currently working on. This event is the kickoff to a larger initiative which includes developing partnerships with interior design teams throughout the country.

Andrea Wexler is a contemporary American artist best known for her post-Minimalist abstraction. Her studio practice is dominated by her interest in geometric forms and the spatial relationships which develop between them.

Born in Montreal, Canada the artist received her BFA at the Nova Scotia College of Art in Halifax, Nova Scotia and her Master of Arts Therapy from Hahnemann Medical School in Philadelphia, PA. Post Graduate studies in Art Criticism and Gallery Management were taken at The Royal College of Art, London. The artist’s work is in the permanent collections of the Skirball Museum, Los Angeles, The Eiteljorg Museum, Indianapolis, The Yeshiva University Museum, New York, NY, The Fine Arts Museum, Santa Fe, NM

The stainless steel and aluminum sculptures created by Massachusetts artist, Rob Lorenson are a compositionally rich interplay of formalist elements. The work is constructed of sturdy, permanent materials but lives in contradiction to the impermanent sense of the composition. Lorenson strives to emphasize the formalist qualities of the work, to create dynamic movement with static, solid objects.

Rob Lorenson received his BFA from the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls and an MFA from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb. Since 1999 the artist has lived and worked in southeastern Massachusetts. His works have been included in several exhibitions, including Pier Walk in Chicago, the Sarasota Season of Sculpture and the Convergence International Arts Festival in Providence. Lorenson's work is included in over 200 public and private collections from small tabletop pieces to 16' large scale sculptures.

A native of Jacksonville Beach, Florida, Amy Donaldson has exhibited internationally in London, Paris and Brussels. Her work is represented throughout the United States and has been shown at Art Basel Miami and the Illinois State Museum. The artist currently lives and works in Redding, California.

Donaldson is an extraordinarily accomplished colorist who has attained a signature style that embodies both a sense of immediacy and freshness. Her studio practice utilizes crushed, powdered and natural pigments which are infused into the oil paint and applied to the canvas in a freely, expressive manner.

The artist utilizes unconventional tools other than traditional brushes as she executes both an additive and subtractive approach to the painting’s surface. Elements of graffiti are interspersed randomly throughout the composition with their looping letters cutting through the roughly layered paintings surface.

An abstract landscape, with a fresh green and gray palette. Seven Loves is a lusciously painted canvas with wonderful movement and texture.

This work is an Apple Branch Pendant with Green Chrysoprase, Feather Pearl and Garnet.

Artist description: Sterling silver apple branches are accented with one solid 18 karat gold apple branch and adorned with five gemstones set in 18 karat gold bezels: a 2mm and 2mm rhodolite garnets, and two bright green chrysoprase cabochons, as well as a gorgeous, natural-colored freshwater feather pearl. Pendant hangs from an invisible bail and from a 16" sterling silver diamond cut wire with a rhodium finish.

We are thrilled to display Liz Barber at Gaia Contemporary located in Santa Fe, NM. 📍🎨 Enjoy this brief video explaining more about the artist 👩‍🎨 in addition to the following. 👇 Emblematic of Barber’s paintings are the organic layered forms and textural variations visible on the painting’s surface. For the most part, Barber’s poured paint process is spontaneous, allowing for incidental reactions to occur between the various mediums utilized. Graphite and oil pastel mark making is visible among the organic shapes whose color palettes are inspired by the seasonal changes. In the artist’s own words “There is always abstraction in my paintings no matter what the subject matter is. Nature provides organic, compelling shapes. Usually, drawing is the starting point consisting of ambiguous elements that add depth to the painting.” The artist’s work is represented in Europe and throughout the United States.
