Our third Volunteer spotlight highlights 3 amazing volunteers! Here we have Tyler, Jules, and Dom Liebentritt who lift the energy level at all of our events and conventions! As the third installment to the Comic-Con Museum Volunteer Spotlight, we asked them a few questions on what they love about Comic-Con and the Museum:

What made you want to volunteer with Comic-Con Museum?

Tyler: When the volunteer department first brought to our attention the Museum, we were eager to be apart of the new vision. Establishing a year round spirit of Comic-Con in San Diego was something we truly wanted to partake in and help bring to life. One of the main reasons I volunteer is to connect with other fans like ourselves. Once we heard about the incredible people spearheading the Museum we knew this would be a great fit. The passionate and inspirational team that are making this dream come to life, truly was a key factor in volunteering for this specific department.

If you could live in any fictional world, what would it be?

Tyler: This is a tough question because there are so many worlds I would want to visit! I think if I had to choose one to live in it would be the Marvel Cinematic Universe. There are so many different aspects to this multiverse so I would be able to still have the overall sense of home (Earth vibes) but get to explore various worlds within like Asgard, Wakanda, and the Mirror Dimension.

What is a favorite memory from volunteering with the museum?

Dom: There are so many amazing and fun memories that I have had while volunteering with the museum. But one of my all time favorites was at WonderCon when we had the Batmobile and the Green Hornet’s Black Beauty at the booth. Just being able to meet and talk to people about their excitement for the upcoming opening of the Museum and pop-up events that we were holding was unforgettable. But you can’t forget the sheer badass-ness of the cars we were around all day, that was pretty cool as well.

If you could go back in time to any year of Comic-Con, which year would it be and why?

Dom: I would go back to 2013 Comic Con in Hall H when Tom Hiddleston came in full costume as Loki and took over the Marvel panel. He is one of my favorite actors and Loki is my favorite Marvel character. When he made that appearance it drove everyone in that hall completely insane and the room was electric. Tom had everyone screaming Loki at the top of their lungs, creating such an iconic moment that not many can forget.

If you had a superpower what would it be?

Jules: If I had a superpower I would want to have the ability to shape shift. Having this superpower basically includes all the other powers that can be useful in your everyday life. Flying? Turn into a dragon and avoid rush hour. Breathing underwater? Turn into a shark and you will never drown. Strength? Turn into Thor and move your 65" television without the help of several other people. Invisibility? Turn into a rock and be able to avoid confrontation. It would be fun to be able to disguise yourself at a moment's notice. Shapeshifting ultimately gives you the power to create.

Do you have any advice for people who want to volunteer with Comic Con Museum?

Jules: My advice for people who want to volunteer with Comic Con Museum is to 100% go for it! One of the most awesome parts of volunteering with the Museum is getting to meet people that are like you. Every time you work an event, you meet great, nerdy, geeky, amazing people and chances are you'll find yourself deep in conversation with someone you don't know that shares at least one of your obsessions. Also don't be afraid to volunteer by yourself because you are guaranteed to make friends with everyone involved because of how welcoming and passionate everyone is. You definitely won't regret your time spent volunteering with the Comic Con Museum.

For our second week of Volunteer Spotlight we have Ryan Morris! Ryan started volunteering around Comic-Con 2019 and didn’t seem to leave the building for the full 5 days! We couldn’t have pulled that week off without Ryan’s positive energy.

What made you want to volunteer with Comic-Con Museum?

Ryan: I loved the idea that there would be a way to have Comic-Con all year long and I wanted to be a part of that.

What is a favorite memory from volunteering with the museum?

Ryan: My favorite memory of volunteering with the museum was during Comic-Con last year while running the Batman Punching Bag attraction. Seeing how much fun the little kids had when they hit the punching bag and the sound effects went off and the whole room lit up with POW! and WHAM! They all came out with huge smiles on their faces.

If you had a super power what would it be?

Ryan: If I had a super power, I think I'd want to be able to fly. To have that feeling of freedom.

If you could live in any fictional world, what would it be?

Ryan: I grew up reading Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles. If I could live in a fictional world, I'd choose her New Orleans.

Do you have any advice for people who want to volunteer with the Comic-Con Museum?

Ryan: The best advice I can give someone who wants to volunteer at the Comic-Con Museum is to remember that we're all there for the love of what Comic-Con represents. So if you have fun, everyone else will have fun too.

Thank you, CC Museum for your spotlight on Batman!
Shows led up at 4 PM and they said they closed the line. Drove in 2 hours of traffic to get turned down by a rude woman. This place is bogus
I had an absolutely wonderful time at The Gathering at the Comic Con Museum last night. I was initially a bit disappointed when I arrived at the after party to find out no one else would have access to the VR experience (due to overbooking), the feature I had been most excited about trying out. However, upon discovering this, someone named Lisa (not sure if she was a staff member or a volunteer) apologized for the way that particular part of the event has been handled and took me aside to point out the different things that were available. She even caught up with me later in the night to make sure I was having fun and see if I had any other questions. The time she took to acknowledge the oversight and to remedy with other fun activities was deeply appreciated. The variety and quality of things already on display was excellent, and I look forward to seeing it develop over the next two years.
First in line at "The Batman Experience" at The Comic Con Museum in Balboa Park...Woohoo!!!...wait...what...we need a ticket! Poop.
Anyone have an extra pass for the Comic-Con Museum Fundraiser that I can buy? Tonight. (Wed). Not sure how I missed getting one.
Will Comic Con Museum merchandise be available to purchase during the after party? Super psyched!
What kind of exhibits are in the museum? There should be one for fans once in a lifetime experiences. Such as in 2012 a woman at the Big Bang panel won a trip into space. In 2011 I wore a T-shirt saying how much I would love to meet Steven Spielberg, he saw it when I was about to ask a question in the QnA line at the Adventures of Tin Tin panel and invited me up onto stage with him and Peter Jackson.
