At this year’s Future Forward Gala, ICA San Diego is proud to honor two individuals whose work and vision continue to shape the cultural and creative landscape in meaningful ways with the annual ICA Star Award: Ashish Subedy and Beatriz Cortez.
Ashish Subedy’s path across technology, entrepreneurship, and investment reflects a deep belief in supporting innovation, community, and the people building the future. Alongside his work in software and startups, he has become a passionate advocate for artists and cultural institutions, recognizing the arts as an essential part of thriving communities.
Beatriz Cortez, an internationally recognized multidisciplinary artist, has built a powerful practice exploring migration, memory, speculative futures, and multiple understandings of time. Through sculpture and installation, her work challenges how we imagine history, identity, and the future, with exhibitions spanning institutions such as the Venice Biennale, Storm King Art Center, LACMA, and museums across the United States and Mexico.
Together, their work reminds us that creativity, imagination, and cultural support are essential to building more connected and thoughtful futures.
