It's that time again! Our ever-popular Irish Gaelic Songs course starts tonight at 7pm!

This class will be a survey of Irish Gaelic songs as a means of learning Irish grammar, idiom and vocabulary. We will be listening to and analyzing one or more songs each week. This is not a singing class, but the material we study will be useful to you if you wish to sing in Irish. A basic knowledge of Irish (e.g. one previous beginner class) is recommended. The class is free of charge and all materials are provided by the instructor.

This class will be taught as a weekly Zoom meeting. Email [email protected] to join the class!

ATTENTION ALL!

The House of Ireland has been monitoring the COVID-19 situation closely, along with our fellow cottages. We have decided at this time to close the cottage for the remainder of the month as a precautionary measure, and will revisit in April.

We'll be sad to miss you all this weekend, but hope to see you all again soon! Long life and good health to all. 💚

EDIT, 4/5/2020: Our closure has been extended indefinitely, in accordance with state, county, city, and park safety measures. We cannot wait to welcome you all back into our cottage, but for now we wish you the best of health in your own cottages. :)

Hello San Diego folks! Its time for the annual Rose-Ritchie Academy of Irish Dance (RRAID) recital! This will be a wonderful family experience of Irish music and dance. RRAID is one of the many dance schools who participate in the parade and dance on the Ashleigh Roach North stage. Reserve your tickets early and enjoy the show. More important than Riverdance because it is performed by our own dancers of our community.
Join Ireland’s most exciting young tenor Emmet Cahill as he embarks on his biggest solo tour to date and debuts his brand-new album, ‘Blessings of Music’. This follows his number-one World Music album ‘Emmet Cahill’s Ireland’ on the Sony Music USA label and his sold-out concert at Carnegie Hall. The concert will be at St. James by-the-Sea Episcopal Church on Saturday, February 16th at 7:30 p.m. Emmet will perform songs from both albums, as well as Broadway standards, nostalgic favorites and beloved church hymns. And no Emmet Cahill concert is complete without the ever-popular “request medley” segment, which often brings surprises from the audience! Emmet is known as a principal singer with the acclaimed Irish music show Celtic Thunder. As a solo artist, he has performed in over 70 cities across North America and has been a featured guest artist with several US symphonies. Don’t miss this unforgettable evening of songs and stories! Tickets are $30 - $45 and may be purchased at the door or online at www.emmetcahill.com/tour-dates/.
