My work is an act of boldness and restraint, both are needed in my practice.

There is a delicate balance of knowing when to pause, and when I need to have the courage to take a chance.

Nothing can be too perfect because water rarely forms a straight line. It carves channels and pathways, seemingly with a mind of its own.

So through each painting I guide it, without controlling it. A parallel to how life feels.

These two pieces embody that and play off one another. I created them in tandem while shifting the blues and the perspective. Both tell the story of water, of its currents and forms and the connection it holds.

My latest work, Edge of the Shoreline | 36x48in. | inks on cotton canvas.

The rhythm of the tide lulling, the surf ebbing and flowing and a weight lifted away standing in its presence, all captured into the layers of this piece.

This piece challenged me in many ways but now that it’s complete I feel so connected with it. A full circle process that is one of the most meaningful parts of creating work.

It captures a softness, and simplicity, but there are many details and layers of depth when you lean in just a little closer to feel the work. 🤍

Looking forward to releasing it as part of my latest collection next Wednesday, May 6th at 12pm(CST).This work will be exclusively available to my Collectors List so please make sure you’re signed up through my website for the password when the work goes live.

Can’t believe it’s already less than a week away, looking forward to sharing it with you very soon.🫶🥹

The first finished piece of the collection.

I’ve been capturing rainfall in my work for the past five years and with each collection I look to reveal it, and the perspective behind it, in new and different ways.

This piece capturing it in a dreamlike state, just out of focus, watching it fall from a distance over the water, and steadily moving closer.

What once felt like an idea has now become a central focus in my work, the exploration of memory through landscape.

Edges blur, forms dissolve and what remains is the impression, the feeling of a place. Landscape and memory collide through each painting, and the horizon line gradually shifts and evolves.

Currently in the studio creating raw test studies that will soon turn into a new body of work exploring this concept even further.🤍
