The snack bar is located in the former Jeep garage built at the Light Station during World War II.
What’s a Gedunk? It’s a U.S. Navy and Marine Corps term, dating back to the 1920s-30s, referring to a vending area/snack bar!

TWO LIGHTHOUSES! This photo from the late 1870s shows the new St. Augustine Lighthouse, which was completed and lit in October 1874, along with the brand new 1876 Keepers’ House and the Old Spanish Watchtower (which was the very first St. Augustine Lighthouse) in the background. That tower fell into the ocean by 1880.
