Gwendolyn Duncan, President Emerita of ACCORD and my Family, wish to thank each and every one of you so very much for all those who showed so much love, kindness, comforting words, brought flowers, food, drinks, desserts, called, prayed, hugged us, patted us on the back, sent cards, sang songs of Praises to Almighty GOD which lifted our spirits, and attended the Viewing and Services for our Mother: Mary Louise Sales Thomas (ACCORD's Resident Agent for years). We are appreciative of all acts of hospitality shown to our Family during this, our time of Bereavement. GOD is so Great and Greatly to be Praised for all HIS Goodness toward us. We thank and praise HIM for you and wish you the best as we travel through this journey called LIFE. We will be sending, in the coming days, more formal thanks yous. We laid our Mother's body to rest on yesterday in the Jacksonville National Cemetery. We appreciate all those who stopped by to comfort us as we completed the task before us. May the GOOD LORD: Creator of the ends of the Earth and Heavens be with your spirit forever, in JESUS Christ Name. AMEN!

My Mother Mary Louise Sales-Thomas passed away at the age of 87: 6 days before her 88th birthday. The flyer below gives information on her Homegoing Services. Mark your calendars for Thursday, July 2nd! You’ll want to head over to the ACCORD Civil Rights Museum for the premiere of their brand-new self guided audio tour. It’s an incredible, immersive way to experience the museum.

This vital project is sponsored in part by the St. Johns Cultural Council and the National Endowment for the Arts, and we are so grateful for their support in helping us to bring this history to life.

So make plans to be there—July 2nd at the ACCORD Civil Rights Museum at Dr. Hayling’s former dental office and first civil rights museum in the State of Florida.

ACCORD, Inc. wishes to thank everyone who sent well wishes, cards, gifts, and/or were present to help celebrate David Nolan's Birthday on the eve of the day that he was born, 80 years ago. The world is a better place because GOD placed him in it. Praise GOD for the honor of knowing, working with, being taught, and mentored by such a humble, benevolent, caring, intelligent courageous and GODly person. David talks the talk and walks the walk. No greater love can a man have than to lay down his life for his friends. He has devoted his life to sharing and preserving all history: particularly the "unappreciated Black History" of the Nation's Oldest City.
