Did you know that Rose Hips have more Vitamin C than oranges? 🌹 For thousands of years, Rose Hips have been used by many civilizations as food and for medicine. They are nutrient dense and can be made into tea, jams, jellies, soups, and even wine.

Historically, there is documentation of Rose Hips being used for toothaches, respiratory issues, fevers, and more.

Growing in our garden 🌹 Tucked behind the historic walls of the Spanish Military Hospital Museum, our Colonial Garden offers a peaceful glimpse into the world of 18th-century Spanish Florida.

From healing herbs and edible greens to ornamental flowers and utility plants, the garden reflects the practical knowledge that physicians, apothecaries, and colonists relied on daily. It illustrates how Spanish colonists blended Old World traditions with New World discoveries to support health and survival in a new environment.
