On Saturday, March 14 at 12:30 pm we invite you to the opening of The Silence of the Rose, by R. H. Guillener, artistic name of Rafael Herrera Guillen, at the Cristobal Gabarron Museum.

This is the artist’s first exhibition in Murcia and marks an important moment in his career. In this project, painting functions as a space for reflection constructed through the image. The square, as a recurring figure and constructive principle throughout the series, acts as both frame and measure: a defined space in which the entire energy of the work is concentrated.

Today we begin the dismantling of “The Faces of a Thousand Heroes,” the exhibition by Olena Mynenko that over the past weeks has occupied Galleries 1 and 2 of the Cristobal Gabarron Museum.

It has been an intense and deeply reflective exhibition, inviting us to look at the present, to think about the fragility of our times, about heroism, and about the tensions that run through our society.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude for the extraordinary reception from the public, as well as for the interest and conversations the exhibition has generated. It is a proposal that has left a lasting impression and reminds us how art can open spaces for awareness, reflection, and dialogue.

Our thanks to Olena Mynenko for sharing her work with us, and to everyone who has visited the museum to experience it.

With profound sadness, we received the news today of the passing of Sonia Segura, a dear friend and an extraordinary professional with whom the Gabarron Foundation had the privilege of collaborating for many years.

As editor and president of Diplomática – The Exclusive Magazine, Sonia was a remarkable advocate of cultural diplomacy, bringing together business leaders, cultural figures, and ambassadors from around the world through her events, awards, and publications.

Generous, committed, and deeply human, her talent, warmth, and ability to connect people left a lasting mark on the many projects we shared.

We remember her with deep gratitude for her friendship and support over the years.

Our heartfelt condolences to her daughter Serena, her family, friends, and the entire Diplomática team.

Rest in peace, dear Sonia.

Saturday, March 14 at 12:30 pm, we look forward to welcoming you to the opening of The Silence of the Rose by R. H. Guillener, the artistic name of Rafael Herrera Guillen, at the Cristobal Gabarron Museum.

This is the artist’s first exhibition in Murcia and marks an important moment in his career. In this project, painting functions as a space for reflection constructed through the image. The square, as a recurring figure and constructive principle within the series, acts as both frame and measure: a defined space in which the full energy of the work is concentrated.

The exhibition is organized into three sections: Musical Scales, The Rose, and The Silence of the Rose. Within them, form, music, and poetry relate naturally, sharing rhythm, intensity, and silence.

In this issue, we invite you to look at the Museum from different angles: the recent present, the memory of the territory, and the creative processes behind the works. In this edition:

Four years after the beginning of the war in Ukraine, questions remain.

Through education and artistic practice, young people are invited to reflect, create, and take part in a shared space of responsibility. Not to offer answers, but to keep dialogue alive.

Art cannot stop wars.
But it can help societies resist indifference.

Within the framework of the Technical Sessions on Rural Development, Tourism and Blossoming, held today in Mula as part of the MulaFlor 26 program, the Cristobal Gabarron Museum welcomed the visit of the Regional Minister of Culture and Tourism, Carmen Conesa; the Mayor of Mula, Juan Jesus Moreno, together with his governing team; and the Government Delegate in the Region of Murcia, Francisco Lucas Ayala, as well as council members and mayors from various municipalities.

During their tour of the museum, the authorities were introduced to the artistic initiatives carried out today to mark the fourth anniversary of the outbreak of the war in Ukraine. These included the work developed by students of Colegio Cristo Crucificado in collaboration with artist Olena Mynenko, as well as the screening of "Flowers Against Bombs," the first action of the international project "Ambit'' created in Mula in February 2022, four years ago. The work forms part of "Ambit" an internationally oriented artistic project promoted by the Gabarron Foundation that fosters interdisciplinary encounters in dialogue with landscape and nature, connecting local territory with global reflection.

The coincidence of this event with the blossoming season in Mula reinforces the symbolic nature of the gathering. In a territory where nature sets the rhythm of the calendar and constitutes an essential part of its cultural identity, art serves as a bridge between the local and the international, linking landscape and community with a global reality that calls upon society as a whole.

🌸 "Flowers Against Bombs": Art in the Face of Violence

Today, February 24, on the fourth anniversary of the invasion of Ukraine, the Cristobal Gabarron Museum presents the project "Flowers Against Bombs" as part of a day dedicated to art and social awareness, which also included a workshop led by artist Olena Mynenko in collaboration with students from Colegio Cristo Crucificado.

"Flowers Against Bombs" is the first action of the international project "Ambit'', created by Cristobal Gabarron in February 2022, just two days after the outbreak of the war.

Conceived in dialogue with the almond blossoms in Mula, this large-scale action painting transformed the landscape into a symbolic gesture: life in the face of destruction, beauty in the face of violence, culture as a response.

Today, four years later, the museum also welcomed an institutional visit from the Regional Minister of Culture and Tourism, the Mayor of Mula, and the Government Delegate in the Region of Murcia within the framework of MulaFlor26. They had the opportunity to view the mural created by the young students of Cristo Crucificado and to greet the artist Cristobal Gabarron.

On a day when the municipality is also celebrating its blossoming season, the work takes on special significance. From the territory, from nature, and through art, it projects a perspective that transcends the local and connects with an international reality that continues to challenge us.

"Flowers Against Bombs" thus stands as a declaration: art can be memory, awareness, and commitment.

🎨 Art and Social Awareness at the Cristobal Gabarron Museum

Today, marking the fourth anniversary of the invasion of Ukraine, the museum hosted an artistic gathering that transformed creative expression into a space for reflection and a call for peace.

Artist Olena Mynenko () collaborated with students from the Visual Arts program at Colegio Cristo Crucificado in the creation of a collective hero — a mural built from symbols, words, and forms representing both individual and shared strength.

The event also featured a screening of the documentary Flowers Against Bombs, the first action of the international project "Ambit," launched by the Gabarron Foundation and carried out by Cristobal Gabarron in February 2022, just two days after the invasion began. The work was conceived in dialogue with the blooming almond trees, a symbol of life in the face of violence.

As part of the Technical Sessions, we were also honored by the visit of the Regional Minister of Culture and Tourism, Carmen Conesa; the Mayor of Mula, Juan Jesus Moreno; and the Government Delegate in the Region of Murcia, Francisco Lucas Ayala. They had the opportunity to view the mural created by the students and greet the artist Cristobal Gabarron, who was also present at the museum today.

From Mula, art once again builds bridges between the local and the international, reaffirming its commitment to education, culture, and peace.
