In 1980, Ronald Feldman Gallery and Andy Warhol Published the portfolio ‘Ten Portraits of Jews of the Twentieth Century’ bringing together portraits of ten influential Jewish figures, including Albert Einstein, Sigmund Freud, Franz Kafka, Gertrude Stein, and Golda Meir. The portfolio marked the beginning of a significant creative partnership between Warhol and Feldman that continued throughout the 1980s. A unique trial proof set of ‘Ten Portraits of Jews of the Twentieth Century’, accompanied by a handwritten list of potential subjects compiled by Feldman and Warhol that served as the starting point for the project, is currently on view in Andy Warhol: ‘Theme and Variation’ at Ronald Feldman Gallery through December 3, 2026.
