ANDREAS EMENIUS X PHILLIPS
Private Selling Exhibition
7 June – 9 July 2021

PHILLIPS X in collaboration with SHIN GALLERY are pleased to present an online solo private selling exhibition of paintings by Andreas Emenius. Intertwining the mundane realities of every day with classical and elusive forms, Emenius interprets the world as it is observed and how it is perceived. The exhibition examines both early works depicting groups of individuals, alongside new work reflecting abstracted landscapes. With the intention to balance composition, color, and line, Emenius oscillates between the banal and otherworldly to capture a specific moment in time.

Phillips presents Andreas Emenius from Monday, June 7, 2021 in New York

Gail Goldsmith: Pieces from Lifetime
September 10 - October 18, 2020

Inside the studio of overlooked 86-year-old female clay sculptor Gail Goldsmith (b.1934). The artist's first major retrospective, "Gail Goldsmith: Pieces from Lifetime", will be on view September 10 - October 18 at our new gallery space on 322 Grand Street, New York.
▫️⠀
Sculpting since the late 1940s, Goldsmith has remained almost hidden in her Chinatown based studio. Through odd children’s toys, plaster molds of family or friends faces, and abstracted figures, Goldsmith’s stirring sculptures contain intimate stories intertwined with her life experiences. ⠀

But, faced with the work’s current proximity, why not revel in its strange, absorbing l...
