📦 Amazon delivery drivers have become a major headache for cities trying to protect their lanes. Between 2019-24, Amazon drivers racked up 3,600 citations for blocking bus stops and bike lanes in alone. Urbanists and unions are finding common cause in tracking the violations.

The LA New Mobility Challenge, our startup competition that has spotted and propelled some of the industry's most promising young companies for nearly a decade, is now taking applications for 2026, in partnership with Los Angeles Cleantech Incubator (LACI) and Miami Dade Innovation Authority.

Previous winners include:

✈️ Ampaire, the hybrid-electric aircraft developer from Long Beach, recently closed a $19M Series B and has advanced aircraft with 54–57% lower fuel burn.

🛞 ENSO, the sustainable EV tire maker based in London, became the first B-Corp certified tire maker and Earthshot Prize finalist, reducing EV emissions by up to 35% and improving EV range by up to 10%.

🔌 it's electric, the curbside EV charging infrastructure provider born out of Brooklyn, was recently selected for NYC's permanent charging contract and will install 700+ chargers across all five boroughs.

Selected finalists will present at CoMotion NXT in Long Beach on Nov 17 with the winner being announced at CoMotion LA on Nov 19.
