Corita Art Center, preserves and promotes Corita Kent’s artistic and educational legacy and passion for social justice.

Today, the Corita Art Center supports exhibition loans and public programs, oversees image and merchandising rights, sells Corita’s original serigraphs, and serves as a resource of information about her life and work.

A little brunch, a lot of joy, and a whole lot of purpose!

Before our 7th Annual Corita Day kicks off on Saturday, November 7, join us for a special Benefit Brunch in the Courtyard and Garden at Hauser & Wirth DTLA, with food and drinks from Manuela.

Your ticket helps make Corita Day accessible to children and families from our community partners at no cost, while supporting the art and education programs we bring to communities year-round. One day of celebration helps make a whole year of creativity, connection, and learning possible.

After brunch, we’ll take to the streets in a Corita-inspired procession to the festival, where we’ll see that collective spirit in action.

Come hungry, bring a friend, and help us make more good things possible.

We are often asked about Corita’s 1970 “love justice” poster, so we decided to make a bandana!

Our new flowers grow out of dark moments VOTE tee designs and printed by Black Stamp just hit the shop 🗳️🌻

This original design is an homage to Corita’s 1977 Serigraph, “flowers grow”, as well as her 1979 series “flowers for mary”.

Thank you to The New York Times and Melissa Kirsch for including Corita and the ten rules in “The Good List” today!

In the 1960s, Corita asks her students to reimagine what a learning environment could be. Together, they came up with the now widely recognized Immaculate Heart College Art Department Rules.

These words were visually arranged by the calligrapher David Meckelburg and hung in her classroom.

This year, the Boston Harborwalk got some new signage! Along the UMass segment of the trail, students worked with the Friends of the Boston Harborwalk to research and install this placard about how Corita designed the “rainbow swash” for Dorchester’s now famous gas tank.

The 1971 artwork measures 140 feet, and has become a recognizable landmark visible from the interstate. So much so, that when the original tank was demolished in 1992, the artwork was recreated on the new tank a few hundred feet to the east!

Last Saturday’s receipt camera accordion book workshop with Las Fotos Project was such a joy 🎞️

We hope you’ll join us in September for Connect and Create Workshops, Close Looking Tours and self-guided exhibition visits at CAC. There’s only three Saturdays left.
