On View: Threads of History: Quilts by Carolyn Mazloomi

Explore this powerful exhibition featuring 20 black-and-white quilts, each honoring Black Freedom Fighters. Created by internationally renowned artist, curator, and educator Dr. Carolyn Mazloomi, these works connect history, art, and storytelling in a deeply moving tribute to Black resistance and resilience.

On View: Deanna Newsom: Garden Parallax

Deanna Newsom explores the natural world through close observation, movement, memory, and the mysteries of everyday landscapes. Her mixed media paintings aim to capture the experience of being in nature.

Save the date for the opening reception on Wednesday, September 16 from 6-8 pm.

Grab your scissors and glue (or use ours!) and join us this Thursday night for Collage Night at The Contemporary Dayton!

Come get creative in a relaxed, welcoming space—no experience necessary! We’ll provide materials, or feel free to bring your own.
