This Sunday, leaders from museums and academia gather at the Wende to talk about the pressures facing public history.

The lineup changed this week. Anthea Hartig, director of the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History, is no longer able to appear. Justin Jampol, our founder and executive director, will take her place on the panel.

Who controls the past, and who is allowed to speak for it, is what we are gathering to discuss.

The Future of History in the Public Sphere happens Sunday, August 23 at 10:30 a.m. This program is sold out.

Tomorrow morning at 10:30, bring the little ones to Tales in Two Tongues, our bilingual Russian-English story time at The Wende Museum's Community Center. Our Archives Assistant shares tales from The Wende's collection of Soviet books, told in both English and Russian for children ages 4–8 and their families.

This space-themed session includes a special treat: a marionette performance courtesy of our friends at the Bob Baker Marionette Theater! 🎭
