This teacher quote has always stuck with us. 💜 “What kinds of problems do you want to solve?” is such a powerful question.

Engineering isn’t just about preparing students for a particular career. It gives them a way to look at the world, notice problems, and start imagining what they could do about them.

🎉 We’ve won two Educators Pick Best of STEM Awards for 2026!

We’re excited to see our Middle School curriculum recognized as a Trailblazer. Developed with support from MathWorks, these six units give middle school students the chance to develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills at an age when they’re forming their identities around STEM.

We’re also thrilled to be recognized for Best Hands-On STEM for Enrichment. YES Enrichment units are designed to make meaningful, hands-on engineering work in flexible learning environments.

A huge thank you to Catapult X and their panel of educator judges for choosing YES for both of these honors. And we’re especially grateful to YES educators. Without you, we wouldn’t be here. 💜

💥 Download a free hands-on STEM activity that's perfect for the start of the school year.

A hands-on engineering challenge is a great way to get to know your students and start discovering their strengths. Who naturally collaborates? Who thinks carefully before building? Who asks great questions? Who keeps trying when the first idea doesn't work?

Those early observations can help you begin to understand how your students approach problems, work with others, and learn.
