The Boston Street Railway Association is a non-profit, 501(c)-3 educational organization, dedicated to exploring the history of all forms of public transportation in the greater Boston area, and preserving present-day activities for future generations. Our central objectives—history, preservation, and publications—are achieved through monthly meetings; a streetcar restoration program; a bi-monthly transit news magazine; a series of respected publications; and more.

⚠️ Our June Meeting has been cancelled due to ongoing concerns with large gatherings. We are looking to hold online meetings this summer, and will share more information here once we have it.

The Jan/Feb Issue of RollSign Magazine (and soon, Mar/Apr) has been distributed to members who signed up for our email updates. Any members who have not yet signed up can do so at thebsra.org/emailsignup

Note: All members will receive a print version of BOTH issues once we are able to produce them.

We will also begin our monthly eBulletin email newsletter soon, which will update members on our activities and provide some historical reading.

Our online store remains OPEN and ready to provide transit-related reading materials for your summer relaxation! Visit thebsra.org/store to shop today, and support the BSRA during this time.

⚠️ Dear members and friends,

Due to ongoing concerns related to the COVID-19 Virus, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts has extended an emergency order prohibiting large gatherings statewide through at least May 4. As a result:

- Our April meeting, scheduled for April 4, has been cancelled.

- Our May meeting, scheduled for May 2, has been cancelled.

- Our Lechmere Farewell fantrip, scheduled for April 26, has been cancelled. Those who purchased tickets via credit card will be issued a refund in full over the coming days. Those who ordered tickets by mail will have their checks returned to them via US Mail in the coming days; we did not yet cash any of the checks.

At this time, we do not have any new information regarding the closure of Lechmere station. We will try and share any updates we do receive on our website, however we advise our members to adhere to state and federal orders regarding gatherings and non-essential travel.

At this time, our online and mail-order store remains operational. Additional updates regarding our activities, including the distribution of the January/February 2020 issue of RollSign Magazine, will be posted here and on our website as we are able to provide them.

The health and safety of our members, supporters, and volunteers is paramount. The BSRA Board of Directors wishes safety and good health to you and yours during this time, and we look forward to resuming our normal activities as soon as it is safe to do so.

Decisions will be made regarding our upcoming Fantrip and the May meeting at a later date. Our online store remains open for now, and we are working to process all orders already received as quickly as possible.
