Irish American Museum The museum is a working class historic home and preservation site that shares the stories and experiences of the Irish immigrants in Baltimore and America.

What is the Irish Railroad Workers Museum? The Irish Railroad Workers Museum is a historic site in Baltimore Maryland that celebrates the history of the immense Irish presence in Southwest Baltimore in the late 1840's. The museum officially opened on June 17th, 2002. This site consists of a group of 5 alley houses where the Irish immigrants who worked for the adjoining B&O Railroad lived. Two of the houses, 918 and 920 Lemmon St., are the museum. The Irish Railroad Workers Museum is the centerpiece of a larger historical district that includes the B&O Railroad Museum, St. Peter the Apostle Church, Hollins Market, and St. Peter the Apostle Cemetery. The museum is a project of the Railroad Historical District Corporation, a non-profit organization.

Tomorrow, Saturday, October 10th at 11:30 AM, step into the historic heart of Hollins Market for When the Veil Thins: Ghost Walk Tour. We’re tracing the narrow rowhouse steps of the old B&O corridor to uncover the real, untold lives (and lingering spirits) of our immigrant forebears.

The old traditions say that as the Samhain season settles in, the barrier between worlds wears thin. But the past isn't waiting for midnight—it’s stepping right out into the daylight! ☀️✨Join the Irish American Museum on Saturday, October 10th at 11:30 AM for an immersive neighborhood walking tour through the historic streets of Hollins Market. As we trace the pathways and rowhouse steps of the old B&O corridor, you won't just hear historical facts—the historical figures of our past will be traveling right alongside us, sharing their own real, personal stories.

We’re getting everything ready for our next brick installation, and we'd love to make sure no one misses out if they've been meaning to add a name to the path.

Only one week left to grab your tickets for the Backyard Céilí! 🪕💃

Join us next Saturday, September 26th, from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM for an afternoon of traditional music, dancing, and community at the Irish American Museum.

We are thrilled to host this event in partnership with the Emerald Isle Club and the Baltimore Irish Music School! Enjoy incredible live music from Laura Byrne, Billy McComiskey, and Matt Mulqueen, alongside special performances and demonstrations by BIMS students and the Tír na nÓg Dancers.
