With so many areas to climb and explore, be sure to wear closed toe, flat soled shoes and comfortable clothes so you can enjoy a fun and safe learning experience through the adventure of play!

Last Friday, grown-ups took over Port Discovery for a night to remember — celebrating the legacy of Adventure Expedition in true explorer style. From the laughter to the games to the pure nostalgia of getting to be a kid again. This sold-out night reminded us why play never really has an age limit.

Grown-up explorers, drinks and a night filled with nostalgia!

This special night was shared with so many special people, the kids who grew up chasing puzzles and hidden passageways through the tomb came back as adults to relive it all over again.

The Final Expedition SOLD-OUT adults-only night celebrated the legacy and 28 year reign of Adventure Expedition, Port Discovery’s oldest exhibit and the one that’s been sparking curiosity adventure since we opened our doors back in ‘98.

We even raffled off some pretty special pieces straight from the exhibit itself, giving a few lucky guests a piece of Adventure Expeditions history to take home. 🎟️

Thank you to our friends at Power Plant Live! for helping us bring this night to life. 🙌

Adventure Expedition has been a part of Port Discovery’s story for over 25 years and we’re not done adventuring yet.

Thanks to everyone who came out for one more adventure. 💛

Summer’s winding down, and our program is shifting with it!

Kicking off the month with our last First Friday Fun Night of the 2026 summer season on Friday, Sept. 4 — discounted admission at $15/person, 5–8PM.

Need Labor Day plans? We’ve got you! We’re open for PLAY on Sept. 7, 10AM–5PM.

Transitioning into our pre-fall wind down 🍂
starting Sept. 8 through Oct. 4:

Monday–Thursday: CLOSED
Friday: 10 AM–5 PM
Saturday: 10 AM–5 PM
Sunday: 11 AM–5 PM

This gives our team time for staff training, deep cleaning, and a full reset before fall. ✨

Summer’s over, but playful learning never stops 📚 Homeschool Days are BACK with 3 workshops for homeschoolers!

*Each day offers two identical sessions at 10:30 AM and 1:30 PM — Participants should register for one session only. Homeschool admission tickets are $15 per person and $7.50 per person for members. Admission includes all day admission to explore the museum🤩

We’re looking for a couple of Marketing & Communications Interns to join the Port Discovery Children’s Museum team this fall!

This is a hands-on, in-person opportunity for students and recent graduates who want to gain real experience in museum marketing, communications, storytelling, design, research, and more.

Interns can explore one of three focus areas:
📱 Digital Content, Storytelling & Communications
Social media, photography, videography, content creation, and communications

🎨 Brand & Design
Graphic design, visual communication, branding, campaigns, and creative projects

📊 Marketing Research & Analytics
Marketing strategy, audience research, campaign planning, analytics, and performance reporting

About 75% of the internship will be spent with our Marketing & Communications team, with the remaining time alongside our Learning & Visitor Experience team. We want our interns to experience the museum firsthand and understand the audiences they’re helping us reach.

Professional experience is not required. We’re looking for people who are creative, curious, collaborative, strong communicators, and excited to learn.
