The countdown is on, one week from today, The Art of Paper: Selections of Handmade Paper Works from the Collections of Jordan D. Schnitzer and His Family Foundation opens to the public.

Many of you know Emily Robison for her incredible work as the Asheville Art Museum’s grant writer, but behind the scenes, she is also an accomplished artist pushing the boundaries of fiber art.

Emily is being featured in Damn Magazine for her work with rare fibers, specifically sea silk, highlighting the creativity and innovation that inspire her practice. Be sure to check out the section when the publication hits newsstands next week to learn more about her artwork and process.

On View Now! On the Lathe, Shaping a Movement. This exhibition traces the development of the American studio woodturning movement through key artists who transformed the field, shifting it away from the artisanal crafting of functional forms to probe the expressive potential of wood turned by a lathe. More than merely highlighting the artistic excellence and innovation of the movement, On the Lathe underscores the importance of relationships to the studio woodturning movement’s development, highlighting the networks that artists built, generation to generation, as they evolved woodturning into a sculptural art form.

Mark your calendars for one of Asheville’s most anticipated Spring evenings of art, community and connection. Mosaic Community Lifestyle Realty’s Art Walk & Benefit returns on Thursday, May 7, 2026, from 5 to 8 p.m., bringing together downtown Asheville’s vibrant creative scene in support of local nonprofits.

This free public event will unfold across 11 downtown Asheville galleries and creative spaces, inviting attendees to stroll from stop to stop to experience inspiring artwork and connect with organizations doing meaningful work in Western North Carolina. Each location will be paired with a different nonprofit partner and hosted by Mosaic agents, for a night that celebrates both creativity and impact – all against the eclectic backdrop and electric energy of downtown Asheville.

The 2026 Art Walk will benefit 11 local nonprofit organizations, with proceeds raised throughout the evening helping to further their missions.
