WORK: WNC Women in STEAM opens today!

This hands-on exhibit explores the real-world work of 12 local women leaders across multiple STEAM disciplines.

Designed and built by AMOS, in partnership with and .

A special thanks to our friends over at Pack Memorial Library for giving this exhibit’s theme song that copyright free treatment.

WORK is on view until September 21st, with plans to travel around WNC libraries and public spaces in 2027.

Dolly Parton cared deeply for so many parts of Appalachia. Her love for this region is just as evident in her actions as a philanthropist and conservationist at it is in her songwriting.

Thanks to her kindness and care, her spirit will live on forever in our region. She will be felt in everything from the American chestnut to our bald eagles. From butterflies and pollinators, to climate resiliency efforts and healthcare equity in rural areas. From the moment a child picks up a book to when they cross the stage.

When visiting AMOS you might come across a Dolly easter egg or two. We hope that they can be a fun reminder for visitors of how one child from rural Appalachia can change the world for the better. 🦋
