We are hosting a very special gallery opening at this Wednesday, May 21st, from 5-8 for this wonderful group of Australian artist.
There will be snacks by
The show will be up through Sunday so if you can’t make the opening be sure to stop by another day.

Last spring when I was in Australia for I met Ruby () and Jade ()
Two total gems!
We started a discussion about bringing them to NC to do a residency.
Fortunately my dear friend of was open to a collaboration and long term resident was also keen on the idea.
My friends and mentors from Australia and recommended and .vibert respectively as good candidates for the residency and the stage was set.
They lived and worked at Township and I provided the clay and the woodkiln.
It has been a wonderful 6 weeks of joy, laughter, learning and collaboration.
Life long friendships were forged.
This exhibition is the final culmination of their work here over the past 6 weeks.
So many people have contributed to their positive experience here and have taken the time to show them around and share their knowledge.
It’s been a wonderful educational opportunity for these early career artists.
Many years ago I went to Australia for the first time to work at in Tasmania and that experience profoundly impacted my life.
I’ve always worked hard to pay it forward and provide opportunities for young folks because I know how much it meant to me when I was at that stage in my career.
Thanks for reading all these thoughts and thanks for caring.
Come on out and show your support for our friends from downunder.
❤️

Shout-out to Clayspace Co-op!!! As a member of Clayspace, I remember mentioning the idea to host The Nasty Woman Art Show to the others back in 2017, and everyone was excited. It was a way to bring people to the gallery and support a cause that is so important to all of us. I am so grateful to be a part of this group for 12 years, as well as a member of the River Arts District Artists, Asheville where 5 other galleries stepped in (along with 2 in West Asheville) to allow for more space, more art, and hopefully more $$ to donate to Planned Parenthood South Atlantic and Pro-Choice NC.
Clayspace Co-op currently has 15 members, 4 working studio spaces and a beautiful gallery showcasing what I believe is some of the best pots in Asheville! When you visit Clayspace, you will see pots that were fired in electric, wood, gas and salt kilns made of earthenware and stoneware with all different processes of making and decorating. We are open from 11-5, Thursday - Monday.

During the show, all members are donating 20% of any purchases from our regular inventory.

Thank you,
Kristin Schoonover

We’re excited to be gathering together in our beloved River Arts District this weekend. We’ll be hosting many guest artists who lost studios, artwork and gallery spaces in the storm, so please tell your friends and come show these folks some extra love. If there ever was a year to shop locally for the holidays, this is the one. We need you!
