When production of the classic Mini came to an end in 2000, this little beauty was one of the last to roll off the production line.

But here’s where it gets interesting…

It’s still got the original protective plastic from when it was delivered, the delivery barcodes in the windows and just SEVEN miles on the clock!

🚗 KIDS GO FREE THIS OCTOBER HALF TERM! 🍂

With October half term just around the corner, we're bringing back our popular KIDS GO FREE offer (from 19th - 30th October).

If you're looking for something to do with the family over the school holidays, why not join us for a trip down memory lane?

🍂 AN AUTUMN ARRIVAL!

There’s a new face at Great British Car Journey, and we think she’s dressed rather appropriately for the season!

This gorgeous little Austin 10 made its way into the museum today, sporting a beautiful shade of “Pueblo Brown” with contrasting black wings. Very autumnal, don’t you think? 🍁

She’s already taken pride of place, front and centre, ready to welcome visitors through our doors!

We’re still getting acquainted with our newest arrival, so we’ll be sharing more about her history and story very soon. But we couldn’t resist giving you a little sneak peek!

"Outstanding visitor experience not to be missed!

A group of members from the Cavalier and Chevette Club visited the Great British Car Journey to take part in their annual Vauxhall Day event as part of our National Weekend in the Peak District and it was a fantastic experience in every way.

From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the friendly professionalism and dedication of every one of the Museum team.
There is plenty of decent free car parking at the site and good access for most if not all. We all ate in the cafe, where there is a wide selection of food options on the menu, and the food and drinks were both tasty and very good value for money. Cafe staff are very friendly and like everyone you meet at this Museum, nothing seems too much trouble.

The collection inside the Museum is fascinating and is a real experience where you can step back in time, enjoying the magic of a bygone golden age, when cars were distinctive and possessed a special styling individuality, which has been lost in todays repetitive bland styling.

All the staff were amazing and helpful during our visit and in the planning and organising leading up to it. Nothing seemed too much trouble.

This is a fantastic attraction to visit and you must study their website to find out more about the wide range of things that go on there and other activities you and kids can take part in.
10/10 to everyone at Great British Car Journey - your amazing Museum, dedication and professionalism delivers an outstanding visitor experience, Derbyshire can be very proud of!"

Does a gift get much better than this?!

We recently welcomed to Drive Dad’s Car when he finally got around to redeeming a gift of his dreams!

He said “An enormous thank you to for one of the greatest gifts I could dream of! 🥰

On Saturday, I had the opportunity to drive a Wolseley 14/60 (1938), Mini 850 (1966), and an Austin Seven Ruby (1937). Thank you to Drive Dad’s Car and Great British Car Journey for keeping such an amazing collection.

All three were an absolute dream to drive, but the Mini and Austin were particularly special parts of the experience for me.

Driving the Mini felt like I had achieved a childhood dream of being a part of the Italian Job. 😋

I was amazed at how comfortable I felt in the Austin Seven, and the experience has confirmed that I’d love to own one. 😍

The Wolseley was also a wonderful experience, but my goodness was it a heavy car to steer!”

We’re stupidly excited to hold our FIRST EVER Autojumble & Classic Car Boot on Sunday 1st November and we’d love to see you there!

Whether you’re hunting for classic car parts, tools, automobilia, models, motoring memorabilia, hidden treasures or simply LOVE a good rummage, we’ll have a fantastic mix of autojumble traders and car boot sellers to browse.

🚗 Entry for buyers is just £5 per car - and even better, you’ll receive £5 in vouchers to put towards museum admission if you fancy making a full day of it!
And for those asking… YES, you can still sell! We have a small number of pitches remaining for autojumblers and car booters, but these must be pre-booked in advance (£10 per pitch).

Usually on a Friday morning, we’d be here reminding you about this weekend's Great British Car Show… but not this week! After a jam-packed season, that’s definitely going to take some getting used to. 😂

But don’t worry, there’s still plenty happening at GBCJ!

☔ SATURDAY: The museum is open as normal and with the weather forecast looking rather soggy, we can think of MUCH worse places to hide from the rain! Come and explore 150+ British classics, then grab a coffee, breakfast or lunch in the Filling Station Café while you’re here.

🚗 SUNDAY: It’s a busy Drive Dad’s Car driving day! So if you’re visiting the museum, expect a little extra action around the site as some extra classics head out for their drives throughout the day.

No car show this weekend… but still plenty of cars. We wouldn’t have it any other way! 🇬🇧🚗

Lovely to see Jaki from Volvo Owners Club 'VOC' - UK at the museum today!

Jaki very kindly brought us a copy of their latest independent magazine, which features Great British Car Journey following their visit earlier this year!

Back in May, the club joined us for our Scandinavian Cars Show and helped fill the car park with a fantastic display of Volvos. We’re delighted to say they’ll be joining us again on Sunday 25th April 2027!
