Of course, having fun and getting out and about always means a photo opportunity. The anticipation of waiting for your photos to be developed and wondering how many would be covered by a thumb!

The Diamond Jubilee Drill Hall which stood on Ashgate Road, was not only the headquarters of the 6th Battalion of the Sherwood Foresters, but was also used for public meetings, concerts and wrestling matches. We're very intrigued by 'the Ghoul' who was apparently a mystery wrestler in a mask!

Working Life...
This an intriguing photo. Dating from the 1920s, it's thought to be taken in the woodyard behind the former Market Place Station and the the Portland Hotel. You can just make out 'Green's / West Bars' on the side of the truck. But it seems an optical illusion. Are the planks actually hanging off the back of the vehicle or is it the stack behind?
