When you working late and look up and realise the sky is an unusual colour so you try and photograph it.... Urgh. October apart from being mine and my daughter's birthday month brings beautiful sunsets. I'm not up early enough to catch the sunrises currently so this was a lovely break to my knitting

Wednesday is my day off from the shop so obviously I am sat crocheting a witch hat whilst learning about money mindset. The sunlight is shining and falling on my yarn - firefly from King Cole Yarns & Patterns and I just can't capture the shiny shimmery aspect of this fab yarn. A fascinating zoom webinar from Small Business Britain not what I thought when I first signed up but really doable. Second day in row where common sense and mindfulness and being self aware will help you. Does anyone else do these and realise it's not as hard as you think?

This weekend it's Wirksworth Festival art and architecture trail where you get to find some amazing artists and makers throughout the town. Don't forget the small independent businesses that are there all year round, some have even got extra artists in! It is so important to buy and visit the amazing places that make where you live and like to visit so good.

In no particular order other than rough geographical
* North end where INKY CONDITIONS and The Studio at Wirksworth reside permanently
The Feather Star - Craft B**r & Music amazing b**r, deco, people - I love the tree
The Leafy Snug it's been fascinating watching their growth and development, love it
Skopa Zero Waste Place mutual customers and again watching their growth and cheerleading. It's like watching a child grow.
Red Brick Retro again watching this space come together and what a great business, randomly not took Ben there yet!
Ian Jackson formerly Cromford Collectors Corner, I miss him in Cromford but still send people there it's just not round corner any more but up hill. This is a small but mighty shop full of comics and related stuff and it's fascinating listening to him in full geek mode

All this and more, just what I remembered and frequent, I miss standing at the farmers market but it was a great part of my business story.

The trail is a great way to discover new artists and makers but also to keep the dreams alive of the people that make Wuzza great all year round. Use it or loose it. Your favourite place is waiting to be discovered....

Tomorrow I am taking part in an exciting event at the mill and I'm going to be demonstrating mindfulness in the creative workshops I run. Today has been all about getting the workshops online and sorting leaflets, nothing mindful about that! I think I've spent about 5 - 35 hours in front of the computer today and when I got my family to check on multiple devices including Izzy 3 miles away they can't even see any of the workshops online. Wow. Luckily I can knit to calm myself down and hope that my tech expert (Archie) will press a couple of buttons and make it so other people can see them and book! So yeah Autumn workshops available to book - if you can see them. And we won't even talk about trying to add a page on my website about Yarnstravaganza..... I hate technology and I suck at posting on social media and it's weird as I've got loads to tell you about!

Please let me know if you can see the workshops, I've purposely left a spelling mistake in as I was loosing the will. Meanwhile if I've taken my website down while trying to fix the problem I give in and will resort to telepathy!

Apologies but the shop is shut today, Thursday 3rd September as we move this magnificent boy up North to start his career. It's so exciting while being sad and nervous and unknown as he's the first to leave! Hope you understand why shops shut as we just need to concentrate on him today and getting him moved and settled in. I also haven't charged my phone so won't be easily contactable, I have knitting though!!!!!

Shop back open tomorrow while I plan what I'm going to do with spare room, I'm thinking yellow.....

We had a winning works handmade gifts and plaques restock this week! Some beautiful doorstops added, more blocks including my favourite B flat one and lots of wire cards. All handmade by husband and wife team in Crich.

Today BethanDesigns celebrates the life of her wonderful dad, John. I had the pleasure of meeting him (and him fixing my car!) and after meeting both him and her mum understand completely where Beth gets her bubbly, kindness and humour from along with the batsh*t crazy!!!! Just wanted to pass my sincere condolences and thoughts to you all. I'm sorry I can't be with you today but know there will be a packed church and pub as you all gather to celebrate and remember him.

Look who just arrived from Cornwall!!!

I have 7 beautiful booted mice although scandalously some are bare foot!!!! One is hunched because I think he's cold from his journey, one has a hat and scarf, another a bow in her hair and one with glasses!!!

There's 12 tin sleeping baby mice all with positive quotes in the tin so perfect if someone needs a pocket calming reminder or just a real sweet gift.

These are all handmade by who has family links to the mill! I love it when chatting to customers turns into mice deliveries!!!!

All this and more in the shop full of colour and creativity up the yard at Cromford Mills in Derbyshire. Open every day 10.30-4.30
