😀As we continue to celebrate Volunteers’ Week, we’re excited to launch a new volunteering opportunity!

We're looking for friendly, enthusiastic people to become Visitor Welcome Volunteers at Cromford Mills, part of the Derwent Valley Mills UNESCO World Heritage Site in the heart of Derbyshire.

This rewarding role is all about helping create memorable experiences for our visitors. You'll be the person offering a warm welcome, answering questions, and helping visitors navigate the site.

Volunteering at Cromford Mills is a fantastic way to meet new people, gain confidence and skills, support local heritage, and become part of a passionate volunteering team.

You don't need to have prior experience or masses of knowledge about the site, just enthusiasm and a love of people and place. Full training will be provided.

For further information and to arrange an initial chat, please contact [email protected]

It's VOLUNTEERS' WEEK and we want to say a huge THANK YOU to all the incredible volunteers at Cromford Mills, whose time and energy help us bring our historic site to life every single day.

Today we want to shine a light on the work some of our volunteers do behind the scenes, helping uncover and preserve our rich history.

A lot of our volunteers dedicate countless hours to sourcing new information, exploring historical records, and piecing together the stories that make Cromford Mills such an important part of our heritage.

What they uncover helps inform our guided tours and enriches our Highlighting Heritage talk series, bringing new stories and fresh insights from Cromford Mills’ past to life for visitors and audiences alike.
