Our warmest congratulations to Bob Rennie, recipient of the 2026 National Citizenship Award from the United Nations Association in Canada.
Bob Rennie holds a very special place in the history of the Chinese Canadian Museum. Long before the museum opened its doors, he was the steward of the historic Wing Sang Building in Vancouver’s Chinatown, undertaking its thoughtful restoration and transformation into a remarkable cultural space. Today, that same building is home to Canada’s first Chinese Canadian Museum, a fitting continuation of Bob’s commitment to preserving history and making space for art and culture.
As our museum’s most generous benefactor and one of our earliest champions, Bob’s extraordinary generosity, friendship, and belief in our mission have been instrumental in helping us build an institution for future generations. His continued leadership and support of our annual SPARK Gala are just some of the many ways he remains deeply connected to our work.
Bob, we couldn’t be happier to see you receive this well-deserved honour. Thank you for being such an important part of our museum’s story, for your friendship, and for everything you continue to do for Vancouver and its cultural community.
