Forty Programs

Forty Programs MOUNTAIN, a collection of Farrell's work from the past 18 months shown at The Chinatown Experiment from Tuesday, August 27th to Monday, September 2nd.

Local visual artist, Nick Farrell, returned to Vancouver after completing his BFA in Studio Arts from the Nova Scotia College of Art & Design in Halifax. For the past three years, he has been producing pieces in his live/work studio in Railtown. His most recent body of work features both geometric abstraction and generative sculpture that attempts to document the inherent futility in translating a

n artist's own physical labour and movement into static images and objects. These meticulous and time consuming drawing methods reveal an unguarded creator. As the procedures become more and more fluent, Farrell's visual universe continues to expand and incorporate new forms. Proceeds from the sales during the 7-day installation will be directed towards an ongoing series of pop-up events helping to connect and support emerging visual artists. On Tuesday, August 27th, the gallery organizers invite you to join them from 7pm onward to see the work and learn more about the artist. Refreshments will be provided. Stay connected to learn about other events happening at the gallery that week.
