Here’s an interesting historical tidbit: In the early 1900s, premature babies were cared for in some of the earliest incubators which were on public display, not in hospitals. Visitors paid a small donation to see the miracle babies which funded these new inventions and cared for the infants. Some infants wore corset-like medical braces that were actually crafted to help support their tiny bodies as they grew. History truly holds fascinating surprises!
