When you think Ducati, you probably picture roaring superbikes, but what about one that fits in the trunk?

Meet the 1969 Mini Marcellino, possibly the smallest Ducati-powered machine ever made. With a tiny 48cc engine, folding bars, and a weight of just around 57 lbs, this little legend came out of the late-’60s minibike craze, when riders wanted something compact enough to stash in a car and ride the last miles into town.

Even cooler? It wasn’t originally designed as a Ducati, but ended up wearing the badge thanks to Spanish-built engines tied to Ducati’s history.

Proof that “classic Ducati” doesn’t always mean big, loud, and fast, sometimes it’s tiny, rare, and ridiculously cool.

Would you add something like this to your collection, or is it just garage art?

The Lamborghini That Nobody Wanted… On Two Wheels 🔥

Back in the wild 1980s, Lamborghini wasn’t just building outrageous supercars, they actually tried their hand at a motorcycle. And not just any bike…

In 1986, they teamed up with French workshop Boxer Design and engineer Claude Fior to create the Lamborghini Design 90, a futuristic, hand-built machine packed with aerospace-inspired tech.

💥 Aluminum frame
💥 High-end Brembo brakes
💥 Around 120–130 hp
💥 250+ km/h top speed

Sounds like a dream, right?

Here’s the twist… instead of a raging Italian motor, it ran a Japanese inline-four from Kawasaki. Practical? Yes. On-brand? Not exactly.

Even worse, price and looks killed it. At about $13,000 in 1986 (more than double a typical sportbike) and wrapped in a radical full-body design, buyers just weren’t convinced.

👉 Only 6 bikes were ever built
👉 Just 5 are believed to survive today
👉 Even decades later, one struggled to sell at auction

What was once ignored is now a rare collector curiosity, a true “what if” moment in motorcycle history.

Would you ride a Lamborghini bike with a Kawasaki heart? Or was this one doomed from the start?

You know this one. 🤘

The very same model ridden by the T-800 in Terminator 2, a Fat Boy that became one of the most iconic motorcycles in film history.

Ours isn't from Hollywood, but it's every bit as legendary in person.

Come see it at the Deeley Exhibition Museum. Entrance by donation.

Racing has never been an easy sport to break into. Between the money, the machines, and the miles it takes to get there, motorcycle racing has always been about who can put it all together on the track.

That’s part of what makes this year’s Daytona 200 so interesting.

At just 18 years old, Kayla Yaakov became the first woman in the race’s long history to stand on the podium at Daytona. Anyone who follows the event knows that’s no small feat, Daytona has humbled plenty of great riders over the years.

For those of you who’ve been watching the Daytona 200 for years, we're curious:

Where does this ride rank for you among the memorable Daytona performances?

Respect is earned at a place like Daytona. And this year, Yaakov definitely earned some. 🏁

If you’re into motorcycle history, repair quirks, and the kind of bike trivia that makes you say, “Wait… I never thought about that,” you’ve probably come across FortNine.

They’re a Canadian motorcycle company based right here in BC, and their videos go way beyond gear reviews. A lot of their content dives into vintage motorcycle history, mechanical evolution, and the stories behind design changes we take for granted.

One recent one that caught our eye:
“What Killed the Kickstart?” featuring a CB550.

It’s a great look at how engineering shifts over time and how certain features quietly disappear without most of us noticing.

It’s always interesting to see modern creators exploring the same kind of history we talk about here in the museum.

Have you watched FortNine before? Any favourite videos?
