Save the Date!

The Friends of the Penitentiary Museum will hold their 2026 Annual General Meeting on Sunday, November 22, at Canada’s Penitentiary Museum.

Join us at 1:30 PM for a reception and light refreshments before the meeting begins at 2:00 PM The agenda includes the election of Board Members.

Please note that only Friends’ members in good standing may nominate candidates or vote. Memberships and renewals will be available at the meeting.

The public is welcome to attend!

Have you seen our “Sports in Ontario” display at the Legislative Assembly of Ontario yet?

The display explores the history of sports and athletic life at Kingston Penitentiary, the Prison for Women, Millhaven Institution, and Collins Bay Institution.

If you haven’t had a chance to see it yet, there’s still time! The display will be at the Legislature until December. If you’re in Toronto, be sure to stop by and check it out!

Avez-vous eu la chance de voir notre exposition « Le Sport en Ontario » à l’Assemblée législative de l’Ontario?

L’exposition explore l’histoire du sport et des activités sportives au Pénitencier de Kingston, à la Prison des femmes, à l’Établissement de Millhaven et à l’Établissement de Collins Bay.

Si vous n’avez pas encore eu l’occasion de la voir, il est encore temps! L’exposition sera présentée à l’Assemblée législative jusqu’en décembre. Si vous êtes à Toronto, ne manquez pas l’occasion de passer la voir!

Good news! We've extended our 2026 season by one day!

Our new final day of operation is Saturday, October 31.

We're open daily from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with last admission at 3:30 PM.

There's still time to visit before we close for the winter. We look forward to welcoming you before the season ends and can't wait to see you again when we reopen in May 2027!

Notre nouveau dernier jour de la saison sera le samedi 31 octobre.
