Great Lakes Museum The Great Lakes Museum was founded in 1975. It is located at 55 Ontario St. in Kingston The Marine Museum of the Great Lakes was founded in 1975.

It is once again located at its national historic site location at the Kingston Dry Dock at 55 Ontario St., Kingston, Ontario following 5 years away. The Museum is open for storefront gallery visits and pre-booked guided tours of the Kingston Dry Dock National Historic Site. Tours are 45-minutes in duration and can be booked online via our website.

We’re looking for a Collections Specialist to join our team through the Young Canada Works at Building Careers in Heritage (YCW-BCH) program.

Contract: October 26, 2026 – March 31, 2027

Application deadline: October 19, 2026

This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience working with collections and contribute to preserving our shared heritage.

PA DAY FUN AT THE GREAT LAKES MUSEUM!

Looking for a full day of educational and interactive programming for your child on PA Days? We’ve got you covered!

Our PA Day Programs are designed for children ages 7–12 and combine hands-on learning, creativity and plenty of fun—all in a safe environment at the Museum.

Monday, October 26 — The Mystery of the Keewatin
Put your detective skills to the test and spend the day solving the mystery of the S.S. Keewatin!

Friday, November 20 — Shipwreck Explorers
How do ships float? How do they sink? And what happens when they do? Dive into the science of shipwrecks!

📍 Location: 55 Ontario Street, Kingston
🕣 Time: 8:30 AM–5:00 PM
⏰ Late pickup available until 5:30 PM
👧 Ages: 7–12
👥 Maximum: 25 participants per day
💲 Cost: $50 + tax/child
🥪 Lunch and snacks are not provided.

Late pickup: $10 + tax/child

Cancellation & Refund Policy: Cancellations must be made at least 7 days before the program start date. Refunds cannot be issued after that date.
