Featured stop on The Amazing Race Canada! Tickets on sale now! Once inside the wooden gates, visitors enter the realm of 19th century military life, experience guided tours, scenic views, heart-pounding musical performances and precision military demonstrations by the Fort Henry Guard. You will also see people representing the civilian population of the Fort as schoolteachers and soldiers' wives.

The Fort also plays host to numerous special ceremonies and events that take place all season long. En français:

Une fois à l'intérieur des portes en bois, les visiteurs sont immergés dans la vie militaire du 19ème siècle, font l'expérience de visites guidées, de vues panoramiques, de performances musicales palpitantes et de démonstrations militaires précises par la Garde de Fort Henry. As celebrates 88 years as a living history museum, we're also proud to recognize the women who have helped shape the Fort Henry Guard for generations. 💥

Recently, the noon gun firing featured an all-women detachment on the 24pdr SBML, led by Battery Serjeant Major Emily Clark. Joining her were Bombardier Anja Leifso, Gunners Cate Cawthray, Lily Fenton, Alex Greer, Pearl Monk, Ella Alvarado, and Megan Muirhead, with bugler Lanie Smith helping bring the historic ceremony to life. 🎺

Fort Henry has seen women contribute at every level of the Guard and this year marks the 33rd anniversary of women in the guard. Through dedication, skill, and leadership, they have become an essential part of the Fort's story, serving as Non-Commissioned Officers, Captains, instructors, musicians, and role models for future generations.

Thank you to this outstanding detachment for continuing a proud tradition and helping preserve Fort Henry's rich military heritage for visitors from around the world. 👏❤️

With only two performances remaining this season, now is your chance to experience one of Kingston’s favourite summer traditions before it’s gone for another year.

Happy ! 🐐 Did you know a goat is the Fort Henry mascot? While we no longer have one on site, the legacy of our previous mascots lives on.

The Fort Henry mascot is a white Saanen goat named David to honor the Royal Welch Fusiliers (the 23rd Regiment of Foot), a British regiment that used a goat as their official regimental mascot while stationed at the fort from 1842 to 1843. The first was received in 1953.

Pictured here was the 12th David in service at and referred to as “David XII”.
