We are so proud to share exhibition Black Drawings and Other Things You Didn’t Know About at the Mercer County Community College Gallery.
A must see! I love Tim’s works in black and white however I also love his sense of color, energy and mark making in his work. Here is what the gallery has to say about his solo show:
“We are thrilled to present Black Drawings and Other Things You Didn’t Know About, an exhibition by Tim McFarlane, at the Mercer County Community College Gallery. McFarlane’s work reflects a lifelong dedication to artistic exploration, where memory, time, and the transformation of human-made environments shape his vivid, multi-layered creations. His paintings and drawings offer intricate reflections of urban decay, anonymous graffiti, and the ever-shifting landscapes of our surroundings, blended with personal experiences and imagined spaces.”

Ahhh the coveted red dot on the gallery wall!
There seems to be a lot of negativities in the arts in Philadelphia and overall these days. As we step into a new exhibition of works this week by San Francisco based artist (a few works are already sold!)
I thought I would take a moment to celebrate and share some incredible highlights and positivity from my Fall opening exhibition of works by Philadelphia-based artist .rutstein .

The image being shared shows the label from one of Rebecca’s installations of paintings titled “30 days”. This was taken a few days before the show closed and we ended up selling two more paintings from just this series which gave us 17 sold of this 11x14” sized work and the installation across from this sold 4 works!

We sold 3 large paintings as well, Rebecca was also commissioned to do a large painting for a special home and we sold 8 of her prints

Number of works sold: 33

Additionally, we had 3 press articles come out and Rebecca was also featured on a podcast.

Icing on the cake: She is the finalist for a public art project and her show will be travelling to an institution with an opening and lecture in February (more to follow).

Why was the show received so well? The work was incredible, authentic, timely and resonated with a lot of different types of audiences from young to old and 2. there was care taken in talking to every single person coming in to see the show as well as the artist being involved in tours and talks.

I hope you will join me in celebrating this amazing artist – especially if you are Philadelphia based!

Have you seen ’s review of .rutstein “All The Stars In The Sea” yet?

Artblog makes a point as to why this exhibit is a must see before it closes this Saturday:

“Rutstein, whose high energy and passion come across in person as she tells her story, is on a mission to help others experience the wonders of the earth, especially now when the climate crisis is upon us. The artist feels her purpose deeply. Her work and her words speak to the interconnectedness of life and how we’re all in this crisis together. Her hope is that through her work, people will get a better understanding of the connections and the danger we face with our warming planet.”

Check out the full article on our website and come see “All The Stars In The Sea” this weekend before it closes!
