Bridgette Mayer Art Advisors

Bridgette Mayer Art Advisors Bridgette Mayer Art Advisors is a full service art consulting firm based in Philadelphia and Los Ang A graduate of Bucknell University with a B.A.

Bridgette Mayer founded one of Philadelphia’s preeminent contemporary galleries, Bridgette Mayer Gallery in 2001. The Gallery has earned a national reputation for finding and cultivating American abstract artists over the last decade and today represents nearly two dozen leading established and emerging artists. A year-long renovation has more than doubled the size of exhibition space, allowing th

e Gallery to introduce international artists, photography and sculpture to its program – including several US premieres in 2012. In addition to monthly shows and special events, Bridgette Mayer Gallery provides art consulting and curates corporate and institutional collections such as Tierney Communications, Temple University’s Fox School of Business, Glenmede Trust Offices in both Philadelphia and New York City and Roche Bobois. Through her fifteen years in running her Gallery business, Bridgette has extensive experience in curating fine art and corporate collections, purchasing art as an investment, buying and selling art on the secondary market and creating public and site-specific artworks for larger projects. The past five years the Gallery has curated a yearly benefit exhibition of 200-300 artworks to help raise funds for selected non-profits in Philadelphia. In addition to fundraising for creative non-profits, Bridgette has been invited to speak on numerous panels and give talks at Universities and Museums on building a career as an artist, collecting contemporary art, investing in art and how to run your own business and be an entrepreneur. in Studio Art & Art History, Bridgette was an active member of Bucknell’s Art Board for several years. She has remained active at the University most recently curating an exhibition of contemporary art at the University’s Downtown Gallery and giving a talk to the public. While at Bucknell, Bridgette worked at the Center Gallery (now Samek Gallery) and also did publicity work for Bucknell’s Department of Theater and Dance.

One unique artist we work with, Jason Woodside, got to tap into his creativity for one of our corporate clients to represent their company that has locations around the world. Jason came up with the idea of combining colors from flags around the world in this large painting. This idea worked perfectly with Jason’s vivid colors and contrasting bands of patterns and shapes that he is known around the world for. There is nothing better than seeing our artists come up with new ideas and helping them to share their gifts with clients in new ways!

The result is stunning and is now in our client’s headquarters in Philadelphia.

☁️ public art collection vs. private art collection ☁️

Have you ever seen artwork in public and thought: "I have to have it!" I love it when artists scale their work up or down to fit collectors' needs. Rebecca Rutstein's cloud sculptures are fully commissionable and customizable, and they look just as beautiful in a client's home as in a public art installation. Pictured here is Rebecca's 2017 installation, Sky Terrain, for Temple University and a similarly-colored sculpture created for a client's home.

The right artwork selection will tie your entire home together! For the entryway of this New Jersey Colonial home, we selected a painting from North Carolina artist Damian Stamer's well-known South Lowell series. The painting depicts an old barn in Lowell, NC and captures the same 'old-meets-new' feeling of our client's beautiful historic home. We knew this room would be a jewel when we added a dark wood frame to match this console table and rocking chair.

Bold, contemporary, engaging, and fun? Mission accomplished with this tondo painting by Philadelphia-based artist Arden Bendler Browning! Arden's work explores movement, the desire for travel, the effect of digital imagery on perception and memory, and finding wonder and escape through immersive spaces. Her work is the perfect fit for this client's corporate makeover!

This large-scale Federico Herrero painting makes a bold statement in our client's chic modern loft space. Herrero's rounded, organic shapes contrast the linearity of the staircase, zebra rug, and exposed ductwork. Rich blues and browns in the furniture and accessories pick up similar tones in the painting. Absolutely stunning!

Staircases, hallways, and other liminal spaces are often missed opportunities when it comes to artwork placement. We move through these spaces every day, and clients often leave the walls blank without even realizing it!

I love this Rebecca Saylor Sack painting that we placed in a university staircase. The colors, movement, and scale make this plain wall an exciting and engaging landmark for students and faculty.

to this fabulous project I did in 2014 with TD for their Art for Trees program!

We turned NYC into a public art gallery by installing images by 10 artists in the windows of over 100 TD Banks across the city. Then, we featured the actual works in a pop-up exhibition at Grand Central Station. All proceeds raised in our online auction were donated to four New York environmental non-profits.

Philanthropy and benefit exhibitions are such a meaningful facet of my business practice, and I value the opportunity to help our clients with a good cause!

Art everywhere - even outside! Today, I'm remembering this site-specific installation created by Paul Oberst for one of our clients. Paul's iconic banded poles sketch out an ethereal structure against the greenery. The installation offers some separation for a pair of chairs without cutting off any view of this lush backyard. Think outside the box, and don't be afraid to bring art into every corner of your life!

A good art collection can have space for different media, styles, time periods, etc. Mixing and matching artwork can pull new dimensions from your individual pieces and create an interesting and robust collection!

In this client's home, a sculpture installation by the talented Radcliffe Bailey is juxtaposed with a bright painting by prolific abstract artist Neil Anderson. This strong pairing of two very different artworks allows each one to stand out and shine.

Whenever I go to the doctor or dentist, I always pay attention to what art they have on the walls. Thoughtful art can make your patients feel relaxed and shows that your office cares about the details of client care.

Plenty of doctor's offices ignore this, but this Philadelphia-based orthodontic office got it right! They selected this large painting by .rutstein as the focal point for their chic waiting room.

Let's talk COLOR! In this client's pale yellow sitting room, we wanted to find art that would go well with the existing color story while also standing out against a palette with lots of similar tones. We settled on this four-panel photograph by the artist Paul Oberst to tie the room together. The pale yellow of the flower is a near-perfect match to the client's cheery yellow wall, but the dark background and solidity of the wood panels give it weight and presence in an otherwise light room.

Texas-based artist Alexis Serio creates mesmerizing oil paintings that reflect ideas of time, memory, and perception. With her abstracted horizon lines and carefully selected colors, Alexis evokes memories of specific times and places in her viewers' lives.

This painting takes on a unique and personal meaning for every employee and client who visits this busy Delaware office. When I look at Alexis' painting, I think of the peace and serenity of an ocean sunset. What do you see?

"End of the Line" is an immersive light installation designed for Fashion District Philadelphia by Klip Collective and placed by us! Multicolored lights and programmed video patterns create this incredible portal effect that totally transforms this pedestrian overpass leading to the Fashion District. We wanted to select artwork that feels exciting for shoppers as they walk through, and would also draw attention and interest from pedestrians on the street below. Klip Collective nailed this one!

Have you seen End of the Line? You can check it out on Filbert Street, between 9th and 10th.

Is your dining room ready for Thanksgiving tomorrow?

This client's contemporary Colonial home features paintings by Japanese-American artist Kaoru Mansour in the dining room. Kaoru's lush mixed media paintings combine hyper-realistic fruits and plants with whimsical chandeliers, floating plates, and embellished details such as string and gold leaf. The themes in her work match perfectly with our client's design details, such as the green cherry blossom wallpaper and showstopping chandelier.

Corporate art selection can be FUN! We selected these two paintings from Florida artist 's Facade series for our client's high-end corporate conference room. Dana's Facade series uses bright colors and hard edge abstraction to mimic the storefronts and homes on a busy street. It's always exciting to match our corporate clients with artwork that's fun and eye-catching with lots of details to enjoy.

How do we start our large public art projects??

Often with a client meeting discussing the space needs, architecture and the ‘vibe’ and we create the story we want to share on the artist as many of them have incredible ideas that could be seen in many types of spaces!

We are in our ‘create a mockup’ and mini sculpture with artist .rutstein for a public art project we will be kicking off next summer in Boston! Here is a sneak peek of her mockup she is working on for the client.

We love these challenges and taking art out into the larger world where people going to work and being in beautifully designed buildings will get to see them.

It’s not every day that I get to work with incredible artists from overseas like Anthony Burrill, who is based in the UK.

I was thrilled to commission Anthony and have him design this incredible 15’ x 130’ long mural including custom colors, font design and layout that is featured at the Fashion District Philadelphia!

He created the text LIFE LIBERTY HAPPINESS to capture the history and vibe of Philadelphia and the results are stunning.

Finding the right artwork for a maximalist home can be tricky, but I think we nailed it with this client's colorful home! I'm always happy to work with a client who has a strong eye for design, and I love working from the furniture and decor that inspires you. For this room, we mirrored the blues from this pair of bird sculptures in a pair of abstract tondos, and then created a pop of color with this yellow and pink painting anchoring the wall.

Great art, design, and furniture always go hand in hand!

I am the person usually coming in at the end of a project to finish it and make it complete with art curation.

The color palettes have been selected, furniture installed, wallpaper and lighting hung and what’s next is to fill the empty walls with beautiful art.

This was an installation we did with and it was a beautiful space.

I wanted to anchor the grey, glass, brick and wallpaper with something that would not compete but that would enhance.

This is a beautiful .rutstein painting in black, white and grey that feels very sculptural in this space.

I am in a moment of really loving black and white in artworks to set a tone.

Project Pitch!

I am about to work on a new project in Florida that I am in ‘design mode’ for right now.

The area to the pool and outside is beautiful with landscaping, pool and furniture but it does not have any pop or creative character.

I have proposed a mural framing the doorway as you walk out to the pool, which will set the tone for what is going to happen outside….

Beauty, color, life and FUN.

What's in the Vault this month? For Neil Anderson's solo exhibition "Earth Songs: Last Paintings," I curated a salon-style installation featuring some of the best watercolors and works on paper created throughout Neil's career. I love the way each piece in this installation draws you in and invites you to sit with it, and the way these pieces speak to each other when paired together.

What do you think? Which is your favorite?
