Hike and Sip with us this Saturday!

June 20th at 7:30PM, join us for a guided stroll through the redwoods where you'll learn about the ecosystem, the Ohlone peoples, and Oakland's history.

Then, relax on the observation deck with snacks and drinks before stargazing through our historic telescopes.

It is going to be a classic Chabot evening of community, learning, and the wonder of the cosmos!

Hike and Sip with us at Chabot this Saturday, June 20th!

Join us for either the guided immersive trek or the less intense guided stroll. Then, enjoy drinks and snacks on the observation deck before exploring the cosmos through our three historic telescopes.

Our Hike & Sip programs are 21+ and are an excellent chance to explore the majestic redwoods that surround Chabot, and learn about the ecosystem, the cultural heritage of the Ohlone peoples, and Oakland's rich history.

Family Nature Adventures is THIS Saturday, June 20. The theme? Birds!

Learn how to identify local birds by their unique appearances and calls. Gain tips and tricks for becoming a skilled birdwatcher.

Then, bring your own binoculars or use our child-sized pairs as you embark on a forest stroll, spotting and observing birds in their natural habitat.

Your tickets include Center admission for the whole day! Hang out after your outdoor adventures, grab a bit to eat in our onsite cafe, and check out our NASA Ames Visitor Center and 3 historic telescopes! Catch a planetarium show (or tow) - free with Center admission!

Limited tickets still available for our Paint & Sip this Thursday!

Guests will paint a glowing crescent Moon inspired by real lunar science, exploring how sunlight, shadow, and viewing angle shape what we see from Earth. Your ticket includes two drink tickets for wine or beer, along with snacks and non-alcoholic beverages.

Our brand-new shop class starts TOMORROW and there are just 2 spots left!

This class is open to incoming 11th graders and up and is a four-day, hands-on course introduces students to the fundamentals of museum exhibit fabrication in a professional shop environment.

By the end of the course, participants will have a solid foundation in the tools, techniques, and expectations of modern fabrication shops.

Our Cosmic Camp-in overnight adventures are designed for families, groups, troops and scouts eager to learn and explore together! This after-hours experience grants you exclusive access to exhibits, telescopes, planetarium shows, and science demonstrations and activities!

June's theme is Mars Lander Challenge!
Perseverance, NASA’s most recent Mars rover, safely landed on the Red Planet in 2021. How do NASA engineers ensure a safe landing for Mars rovers? What might future missions to Mars look like? In this highly interactive program, attendees build their own Mars lander, to keep rovers safe on their journey to the Martian surface.

Who's ready for the bubbliest party in town?? BubbleFest is Saturday, June 13th from 10AM-4:30PM!

BubbleFest is FREE for Chabot Members. That's right - at no cost to you, enjoy hands-on activities, bubbly performances and science demonstrations, and even face painting!

🫧And you've got to check out Tica - the stilt walking bubble performer!

BubbleFest is $24 for adults and $19 for kids and your tickets include access to the Center all day long! Check out our NASA Ames Visitor Center, check out a few Planetarium shows (free with Center admission), and make sure you stop by the Observation Deck to peek into the cosmos through our historic telescopes!
