We deeply mourn the loss of FDNY Firefighter Ralph Geidel (right) in 2014. Ralph, along with brother Mike and father Paul spent 9 months at Ground Zero in 2001-2 searching for missing brother Gary Geidel of FDNY Rescue-1. Ralph was a loyal friend, loving husband and father and always one to make others around him laugh & smile. He is remembered fondly and missed daily.

Our thoughts & prayers are with the family of FDNY Capt. Bill Butler, who passed away this weekend. Bill spent 9 months searching for his missing son at Ground Zero and it was an honor to work alongside him. He was a very caring man and I am happy to say I met him. He will be missed and always memorialized at GZMW. For those of you who have done the tour, Bill was a member of the "Band of Dads" - the group of men who spent 9 months digging as a unit for thier missing sons, brothers and dads.

No he's not jamming to his iPod, he's learning a thing or two at the Ground Zero Museum Workshop!
I don't understand how anyone can criticize the existence nor size of an admission fee to a 9/11 Museum? Museums, irregardless of theme, cost money to operate and if not federally funded who will pay for those costs? Without Museums, people forget & have nowhere to go and reflect on a tragedy nor remember those who perished, so those who criticize the admissions fees needed to operate a museum need to ask themselves, keep the memory alive? or forget it entirely. There is no grey area.
